About This Course
Many manufacturers make business decisions that may impact the environment and require them to comply with environmental regulations. Understanding Environmental Compliance is a one-day overview of the regulations that affect most manufacturers. It includes lectures and exercises illustrating the practical applications of the requirements. In this workshop, you will:
  • examine the environmental issues associated with specific regulations,
  • learn the steps to complying with permits, plans, and other requirements,
  • discuss the technologies typically used to meet permit limits.
    Who Should Attend
This workshop is a must for corporate and plant management who have legal liabilities under the regulations. It is recommended for operation directors, managers, and supervisors who may make decisions that could affect their companies’ environmental policies and programs. This workshop also provides an excellent introduction for individuals who have recently been given responsibility for environmental compliance but have little or no knowledge of the requirements.
If you are not sure that your organization or facility is in compliance with the regulations, you definitely should attend this course.

GEORGIAN CUSTOMS REGULATIONS Customs regulations are in a state of flux and are not consistently enforced. Customs forms may not be available when you arrive in Georgia, but travelers should make every effort to obtain one to avoid being assessed a tax upon departure for cash taken out of the country. You should declare all items of value on your customs form. If your form is lost or stolen, report it to the police to obtain a certificate to show to customs officials when you depart the country. Generally speaking, you should obtain a receipt for all items of value purchased in Georgia. For items such as icons, works of art, carpets, and antiques, you should apply for a certificate indicating that they do not have historical value and thus are exportable. This certificate is obtained in Tbilisi from the Ministry of Culture, 37 Rustaveli Avenue, 3rd Floor, Room 16, Tel 99-02-85. HEALTH CONCERNS Georgia provides a relatively healthy continental climate, so tropical diseases - such as malaria - are not a public health problem.
