Welcome to Going To A Museum? A Teacher's Guide . For more information about this site please refer to Professor John Bunch's Welcome Statement. This World Wide Web site includes a compilation of lesson plans written by teachers in the "Museums and Education" course offered in Northern Virginia and other resources written and compiled by a group of students in the same course offered in Charlottesville through the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia This guide is divided into three sections: Museum Field Trip Planning Guide, Sample Lesson Plans and Internet Resources. We suggest you start with the "Timeline" found in the Museum Field Trip Planning Guide, and work your way from there. Keep in mind that this guide is not designed to exhibit "model" lesson plans, but rather to serve as a resource for teachers in the field to help them with their trip planning. It is not organized by grade level or by museum in order that it can be used as an adaptable resource to fit individual teacher needs. We hope that this proves to be a valuable site for you.
