THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF BOLOGNA, Italy
Il Museo Archeologico di Bologna, nella sede dell'antico Ospedale della Morte, risalente al XV secolo, fu inaugurato nel 1881; si è formato dalla riunione delle collezioni dell'Università, della collezione di Pelagio Palagi e dai materiali archeologici provenienti dagli scavi di Bologna e del suo territorio. The Archaeological Museum of Bologna is located in the ancient "Ospedale della Morte" (Death Hospital). It dates back to the XV century and was inaugurated in 1881. It contains the University collections, the Collection of Pelagio Palagi and the archaeological discoveries from Bologna and its surroundings exavations.

The Center of Studies of African Archaeology has been constituted in Milan, Italy, in 1986 by scholars and lovers.
The association, whose purpose is beyond the money, performs scientific researches in the archaeological field of the african continent, availing itself also of parallel and complementary disciplines and methodologies, in order to acquire a better knowledge of the human history.
The CSAA has till now realized several expeditions and new discoveries, producing important publications, lectures, exhibitions, meetings and an International Convention.
The Center has moreover constituted a public library, a photographic collection and a precious collection of cartotechnical material and ancient prints about Africa, updated in continuous way.

Sarah graduated from London University in 1986 with a First Class Honours Degree in Archaeology. After completing her doctorate at Oxford University in 1991 she spent seven years teaching and carrying out research at the University of Ferrara in Italy. She returned to England in 1998 to take up an Honorary Lectureship at London University. She has published widely on lithic technology and Italian prehistory, and is currently pursuing research interests in the earliest occupation of Eurasia and the Mesolithic-Neolithic transition in the Mediterranean basin.
