2. Introduction
This posting consists of answers to many of the questions most frequently asked and summaries of the topics most frequently covered on comp.programming.threads , the Usenet newsgroup for discussion of issues in multithreaded programming. The purpose of this posting is to circulate existing information, and to avoid rehashing old topics of discussion and questions. Please read all parts of this document before posting to this newsgroup. The FAQ is posted monthly to comp.programming.threads , in multiple parts. It is also available on the World-Wide Web, at http://www.serpentine.com/~bos/threads-faq . You may prefer to browse the FAQ on the Web rather than on Usenet, as it contains many useful hyperlinks (and tables are readable, which is unfortunately not the case for the text version).

Operation Hot Pursuit ( working title ) is a half hour film, tracing the illegal ivory trade route, across south east Asia. Having just come full circle, the project began when Miditech won a commission from National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) and Singapore Economic Development Board's (SEDB) Documentary Production Fund for filmmaking initiatives. Miditech won the commission in the Reel Talent category out of over 500 proposals sent in from across Asia. >FULL STORY The year 2002 saw Miditech swamped by a series of awards and nominations, both within the country and overseas. The renowned Indian Telly Awards witnessed four out of five nominations from Miditech, in a single category. Finally, the award was bagged by Miditech's, 'Kuch Yaadein Kuch Baatein', in the Best Non-Fiction Series category. But the high point came at the prestigious Asian Television Awards. Besides winning an Asian Televison Award, two of Miditech's nominations won Special Commendations.
