This book, written in French is for language teachers working in France. A Developmental Perspective on Technology in Language Education
by Mark Warschauer
http://www.gse.uci.edu/markw/developmental.html

Abstract: Is technology a tool for language learning, or is language learning a tool so that people can access technology? This paper suggests that both language and technology are tools for individual and societal development. The paper introduces a developmental approach to integrating technology in language education, based on consideration of both product and process. It then illustrates these concepts through analysis of a large US-funded English language developmental program in Egypt. Two projects are examined: a teacher education program on computers in English language teaching and a basic English methodology course taught via video-conferencing. The analysis indicates that a developmental approach is critical to successful integration and use of technology in language education programs. Cette Page en Français Last updated : December 11, 2001
This page is designed to provide you with information about the Old French language and its literature. The "Old French" era covers the period from the year 842 (date of the "Serments de Strasbourg", the earliest known document written in the emerging vernacular) until about the year 1400 (the period when the 'two-case' system, which distinguished Old French from its modern, uninflected forms, were disappearing from the written language). "Old French" normally refers to the variety that developed in the North of FranceLangue d'Oïlwhich existed in numerous dialects and of which oneFrancienbecame the ancestor of modern standard French. However, a related Southern French language (which some would call a 'dialect')Langue d'Ocwhich exists today in a number of varieties collectively known as Occitan, must be considered, too; its linguistic, historical, literary and cultural importance is inestimable. Since much of what we know about the development of the language is based on written texts, a knowledge of these texts is indispensible to understanding the language itself, and vice-versa. Therefore, numerous links to Old French texts on the Internet and access to related topics have been provided. Feel free to use this site as a link, but please let me know if you do. Contact me at the address below should you have any questions, comments or contributions (e.g., information, links).
