University of Alabama School of Medicine
The University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine has designed a new online continuing education module called "Bioterrorism and Emerging Infectious Diseases." The Web site, sponsored by the UAB Center for Disaster Preparedness and the School of Medicine's Division of Continuing Medical Education, is designed to provide practicing physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel with resource information and education about rare infections and potential bioterrorist agents. Upon completion of the program, medical professionals are better prepared to identify potential bioterrorist infections or agents, as well as identify common syndromes associated with these diseases or agents.
