19 Willowdale Dr, Gorham, Maine 04038 ~ mainehomeed@yahoo.com MHEA Reading Resources List If you would like to find out more about home based education we suggest you look for some of these books. All of them should be available at your library, through inter-library loan, or through your local bookseller. Remember, homeschoolers form a very diverse community and homeschooling methods are as varied as the families practicing them. This list reflects that variety. When exploring these books please, as they say, take what you can use and leave the rest. If you have suggestions for additions or corrections to the information below please send us e-mail at mainehomeed@yahoo.com or write to us at MHEA, Attention: Resource Update, 56 Long Hill Road, Gray, ME 04039 General Homeschooling: The Art of Education : Reclaiming Your Family, Community and Self, Linda Dobson
A thoughtful discussion of why homeschooling is so desperately needed by so many families today if we are to stop the unraveling of our spiritual and intellectual fiber.

Family Practice
Family physicians are trained to prevent, diagnose and treat a wide variety of ailments in patients of all ages. These primary care doctors place special emphasis on caring for entire families on a continuing basis, using professional consultations and community resources when appropriate. Family practitioners complete a diverse training program that includes surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics-gynecology, pediatrics and geriatrics. One such program is the Central Maine Medical Center Family Practice Residency Program.
Some family doctors complete additional training and gain certification by the American Board of Family Practice (ABFP) in a subspecialty. However, to do so, they must first be certified by the ABFP in family practice. Several family physicians who practice in Central Maine Medical Family facilities are certified by the ABFP in geriatric medicine, a subspecialty concerned with the provision of healthcare to older individuals.
Central Maine Family Practice, a component of Central Maine Clinical Associates, is comprised of the following physicians:
