Introduction [Top of Page] Background: Malaysia was created in 1963 through the merging of Malaya (independent in 1957) and the former British Singapore, both of which formed West Malaysia, and Sabah and Sarawak in north Borneo, which composed East Malaysia. The first three years of independence were marred by hostilities with Indonesia. Singapore seceded from the union in 1965. Sexual relationships in Malaysia

If you are traveling to Malaysia, you may be interested in sexual relationships with locals, and no, I do not mean the services of prostitutes or other commercial providers. While you can meet Malaysians interested in sex accidentally, the chances of success are not particularly high if you are there only for a limited period of time (as I said: no prostitutes). On the other hand, Malaysians often are sexually attracted to foreign people. For young Malaysian women, especially in the big cities, it is chic to have a Western boyfriend. So, there must be a trick to overcome the time-consuming "accidental", and to link more effectively the sexual interests of foreign visitors with those of locals. Try the Internet. Or, more to the point: try www.AdultfriendsFinder.com

The country is crescent- shaped, starting with Peninsular Malaysia (West Malaysia) and extends to another region, Sabah and Sarawak (East Malaysia), located on the island of Borneo. The total area of Malaysia is approximately 330,000 square km, with most of it located on the island of Borneo. Peninsular Malaysia only comprises approximately 40% of the total area. Malaysia's climate is hot and humid with relative humidity ranging from 80 - 90 percent, except in the highlands. The temperature averages from 70-90 degrees F (20-30 degrees C) throughout the year. The tropical climate is experienced year-round with the rainy season varying on the coasts of Peninsular Malaysia. The west coast has it's rainy season from September through December with the east coast (and Sarawak and Sabah) experiencing it's from October through February. East Malaysia (the northern slopes) get up to 5080 mm of rain a year versus West Malaysia's 2500 mm. There are forests covering over half of Malaysia, with notable tropical forests in Sabah and Sarawak. Deforestation is a problem the country is dealing with due to logging and hydroelectric projects.

Malaysia - Geography Malaysia, 800km long, has a mountainous centre with spectacular limestone outcrops, a long neck and tapering tail. East Malaysia comprises the Borneo states of Sarawak and Sabah. The total land area of the country is approximately 329,000 sq km. The high rainfall has produced a complex network of rivers. Singapore meanwhile is a tiny island at the tip of the peninsula, separated from the mainland by the straits of Johore.
Malaysia is rich in natural resources. It has the world's largest tin deposits, oil and gas reserves, tracts of hardwood forest, and supports plantations of rubber, pepper, cocoa and palm oil. During the British Colonial era the territory consisted mainly of the western coastal strip of the peninsula.
    Beaches
Most developed beaches are to be found on the peninsular, both east and west coasts. Island resorts off the west coast include Pulau Pangkor, Pangkor Laut with its exquisite Emerald Bay, and Pulau Langkawi with its surrounding islands in the north.
