Currently, thirty-nine states and the District of Columbia have embraced charter schools as a means to improve education; perhaps Maryland will lead the remaining 11 states into this new era of education reform. Over the last four years, we have been contacted often by educators, parents and citizen groups in this state about their interest in helping to bring about charter schools.
