We seek those qualities which embody talent, enthusiasm, commitment, and a strong work ethic in our recruitment efforts. Massachusetts General Hospital Founded in 1811, the Massachusetts General Hospital is the oldest and largest general hospital in New England and the third oldest in the United States with a history of groundbreaking medicine. With almost two centuries of practice, MGH has continually blazed a trail for others to follow through such achievements as being the first to demonstrate the use of ether as an anesthetic and the first to establish a hospital-based social service department. Patients come from all over the world to be treated at MGH because of its reputation as a world class medical institution. As the oldest and largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, more than 90 percent of the hospital's active staff physicians are on the Harvard Medical School faculty. And at $200 million, our research budget is the largest for hospital-based research programs in the United States.

University of Massachusetts Boston , the only public university in Boston, takes pride in its mission to make quality education accessible to the public. Arts on the Point shares in that mission and also makes art of this century, with its reflection of varied contemporary social and cultural trends, available to everyone.
A unique resource for the campus community and the City of Boston, the Sculpture Park fosters an atmosphere in which art can both contribute to classes and promote discussion of the production and relevance of modern art at the end of the century. It will add the dimension of contemporary art to the missions of education and history to the area, taking up residence with the University, the John F. Kennedy Library and the Massachusetts State Archives on the peninsula of Columbia Point.
Arts on the Point has been enthusiastically received by the Boston community, the campus, and friends of the University. The sculptures are on long-term loan with the exception of some promised works, which will be permanent gifts to the Park. Businesses, institutions, foundations, and friends have shown their support by providing funding and equipment for the transport and construction of the sculptures.
