Mechanics of Motion We have all bounced a ball off the ground as a child. Due to gravity, it follows a particular path down and up. I think of my stick stroke pathways in a similar way. No matter what kind of grip you use there are some constants. You need to be able to control your sticks at all times. It is accomplished be creating a controlled fulcrum based grip on the stick. I have seen books that show how this is done, but you really need to have someone show you in person. I am still investigating this every time I practice. Once you have learned to grip the sticks properly, you can then learn three basic arm/wrist movements or strokes. Large arm stroke Wrist Fingers The mutating from one stroke format to another is utilized in all rudiment studies where you play from slow (wrist) to fast(fingers) to slow(wrist). If you can master this, there is little you could not play (if you can read it). Traditional Grip (photos coming) LEFT HAND The left hand traditional grip is very tricky to master. I like to describe it in two steps.
  • Balance the stick on the “table” in the hand (crotch of the thumb and forefinger and top of the ring finger at the first knuckle).

    Equations of motion in nonequilibrium statistical mechanics Authors Baldwin Robertson Abstract Exact equations of motion for the space- and time-dependent thermodynamic coordinates of a many-body system are derived directly from the Liouville equation. This is done by defining a generalized canonical density operator depending only upon present values of the thermodynamic coordinates. This operator is used no matter how far the system is from equilibrium. An explicit expression for the entropy of a system possibly not in equilibrium is given in terms of this operator.
