The elevation of the state is 370 meters. In all this area, there is a lot of interesting geography. There are different natural regions, rivers and lakes, some rich soil, its own climate, and a lot of different types of plants and animals. Natural Regions Rivers and Lakes Climate Life of Plants ... Conservation NATURAL REGIONS Minnesota can be divided into two parts. These parts are called the Superior Upland and the Central Lowland. The Superior Upland is composed of ancient rocks. Its surface consists of a lot of hills. In the Superior Upland, there are many shallow lakes. On the other hand, the Superior Upland has the highest elevation in the state of Minnesota. This is because of Eagle Mountain with an elevation of 701 meters. There are also a lot of minerals in the Superior Upland as well. In the Central Lowland, the elevation is 550 meters. In this region, there is a place called the Dissected Till Plains, which has an elevation of 180 meters to 240 meters. The surface of the Dissected Till Plains was made by glacial till and has had a long time to become dissected. The largest portion of Minnesota is in the Central Lowland region. This portion is called the Western Lake section. Its surface was made by glacial till too. Also, in this region, but in the south central part of the state, there are prairies covered with remains of the most recent glacial age. Finally, the Central Lowland region has more lakes than the Superior Upland region.
