Missouri Partnership for Parental Assistance (MPPA) The MPPA is a statewide collaborative project funded by a four-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education to help parents become more informed and involved in their children's development and education. The MPPA promotes federal requirements for parental involvement in Title I schools. Project partners: Parents as Teachers ParentLink Practical Parenting Partnerships , Parental Assistance Coordinating Center, local school districts, Webster University AmeriCorps VISTA LIFT operates a national service program which places 30 full-time workers in family literacy programs and community libraries throughout Missouri. VISTA workers assist these programs for one year while gaining valuable work experience and earning funds to further their education. Click here to read some of the VISTA's reflections on working with the children this summer. Project partners Corporation for National Service Missouri State Library , Missouri Community Service Commission, local family literacy programs, University of Missouri-Columbia Family Literacy Training and Technical Assistance LIFT provides high-quality basic and advanced training for adult educators, early childhood educators, and professionals in related fields to enable them to implement the innovative family literacy model. LIFT's ongoing technical assistance provides each family literacy program in Missouri expert advice and resources to help improve services to low-literate parents and their children.

What are the Regional Resource Centers?
The six Regional Resource Centers (RRCs) are specifically funded to assist state education agencies in the systemic improvement of education programs, practices, and policies that affect children and youth with disabilities. The RRCs help states and U.S. jurisdictions find integrated solutions for systemic reform, offering consultation, information services, technical assistance, training, and product development. The beneficiaries of the RRCs' work are children and youth with disabilities, and the families and professionals associated with them.

Special Projects
The Missouri Child Care Resource and Referral Network administers a number of special projects for a variety of agencies and organizations. These projects are created and funded from a variety of sources including corporations, the State of Missouri or other governmental bodies, our 8 local resource and referral agencies, or by another organization or funder. The special projects we currently administer are described below. For information on any of these, contact the project coordinator. T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Missouri T.E.A.C.H. is a scholarship and compensation opportunity for center-based and family child care home providers which links education, compensation, and commitment to improving the quality of early childhood care and education programs for young children. For more information contact the T.E.A.C.H. coordinator at info@moccrrn.org First Steps The Network manages the First Steps Training Coordination Project for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The project involves coordinating the required training for early intervention specialists in Missouri. Early intervention providers are required to attend a series of training modules in order to continue to provide services for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Training coordination involves scheduling sessions, contracting with trainers, and coordinating registrations. The work is carried out by the Network office and the local child care resource and referral agencies. For information, contact the First Steps Coordinator at
