Statement of the Government of Mongolia
The Government and the people of Mongolia resolutely condemn the 11 September 2001 hijacking of American Civilian air planes by terrorists, their bloody attack against the USA, the brutal and inhuman criminal actions cost thousands of lives. The Government and people of Mongolia express their deep condolences to the relatives of thousands of ordinary American civilians who lost their life in this bloody attack, to the American Administration and the entire American people. The Mongolian people are in a deep grief at the most tragic event that happened to the American people, share with them their enormous loss and sorrow and express our solidarity with the American people. This bloody attack of the international terrorists is a criminal act directed against the democracy and freedom of mankind. The tragic events on the black Tuesday in New York and Washington demonstrate that international terrorism poses a real threat and serious challenge to not only one country but the entire humanity. The Government of Mongolia addressed to the UN Secretary General K. Annan with a request to convene immediately an Extraordinary Summit Session of the United Nations General Assembly to deliberate on the issue of international terrorism.

Paper presented at "Exposing Communist Chinese Government Influence in America " Conference, Orlando, Florida May 15, 1999 Ladies and gentlemen, good morning ! It is a great privilege and honor for me to be called up to give this address. I would like to present a few problems that many of us are faced with. What I am going to discuss today is the human rights situation in the region of China known as Inner Mongolia. I shall first mention some general points about Mongolian History, and then touch on the current policy of destroying the distinct ethnic and cultural identity of the Mongolian people by means of forceful assimilation. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND I would like to start with a brief overview of Mongolian history. In the beginning of the 13th century Chinggis Khan united the Mongol people and established an empire with stretched across Europe and Asia. The history of the Mongols is interrelated with more than 50 countries of Europe, Asia and Africa. Chinggis Khan can be credited with introducing the Mongolia people to civilization. The influence of the Mongolian Empire on world history during the Middle Ages also cannot be ignored. In 1368 A.D., Mongolians withdrew to their homeland north of the Great Wall and maintained their rule over the vast Mongolian plains. Some four hundred years later, in1758 A.D., the Mongolians fell under the power of the Manchus, a closely related people occupying grasslands to the east.

They replied, as the American first lady nodded her head, that it
depended on whether you were talking about the cattle and the sheep, which

For Clinton, this stop in one of Asia's emerging democracies has also been a move to gentler pastures after two tumultuous days in China at the U.N. Fourth World Conference on Women.
