Student Programs and Services Plan Development and Maintenance : Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPA) Sonoma County SELPA The Sonoma County SELPA is a state-mandated association that oversees and facilitates educational services for students with disabilities in Sonoma County. SELPA operations are cooperatively governed by the Sonoma County Superintendent of Schools and district superintendents. The SELPA’s role is to ensure that the specialized needs of each disabled student in Sonoma County are appropriately met. Adaptive Technology Center The Adaptive Technology Center provides assessments, consultation, and training in augmentative and alternative communication, customized computer systems, special needs software, environmental controls, and equipment adaptations for school, home, and job. The Center houses a large inventory of loanable equipment and can create, modify, and repair adaptive equipment. Contact: Greg Englar, genglar@scoe.org
