50 States' K12 Employment Opportunities
In an effort to facilitate the movement from one state to another, the UK College of Education will attempt to collect K-12 job opportunities for the 50 states. We have discovered that some states do not centralize job announcements. In those instances, we have referred to the list of school districts within the state. Please verify your ability to obtain teacher certification/ licensure rules and requirements . Good luck in your search!!

Reciprocal Agreements with Other States New York has interstate contracts with more than 30 other states and jurisdictions. As outlined in the Interstate Agreement of Qualification of Educational Personnel , a person prepared in one of the contract states who meets the conditions of the contract is eligible for provisional certification in New York. The conditions are either (1) completion of an approved program of teacher preparation or (2) possession of a valid certificate in the contract state and service under that certificate in three of the most recent seven years. Teacher Preparation Program The Discipline Preparing educators is one of the prime missions of Nevada State College. Great care has been taken to construct an education program that meets the needs of our state and responds to national concerns about the quality of teacher preparation programs. Our program is standards based, meaning that there are clear and explicit guidelines for student performance. Our standards are based upon those developed by the National Council of Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (INTASC) and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS).
Students completing degrees in the education programs will have an especially strong background in content areas with opportunities in every education course to apply what they have learned through field-based experiences. Students will apply their learning experiences to a standards-based framework, thereby providing a guide that allows them to continuously reflect and then internalize the content and pedagogy necessary to become an effective teacher. NSC education students will have technology integrated throughout their courses and will have issues of diversity and differences in learning styles addressed in a variety of courses. There is an old adage among educators that we teach the way we were taught.
