NEWFOUNDLAND
This is a province-wide deposit-return system for the recovery and recycling of all ready-to-serve beverage containers (excluding domestic beer, milk, infant formulas and containers larger than 5 litres). Brewers operate an independent deposit-return system.
SYSTEM FOR BEVERAGES OTHER THAN BEER
Newfoundland implemented their half-back deposit-return system in January, 1997. Consumers pay a 20 cent deposit on alcoholic beverage containers (except for beer) and a 6 cent deposit on non-alcoholic beverage containers. Consumers receive a refund of 10 cents and 3 cents respectively on the return of the containers. Each depot is a privately run business which generates its revenues through beverage containers returned to the depot. In addition, some satellite units and sub-depots have been set up in remote areas to ensure people have access to recycling facilities.

The Hudson's Bay Company
In 1670, a Royal Charter was granted to the company, making it one of the largest private land holders in North America history. The Charter gave right to "sole trade and commerce" in all the lands draining into Hudson Bay was bestowed by Charles II, "King of England, Scotland and Ireland," upon his cousin Prince Rupert and his seventeen associates. They were described as "The Governor and Company of Adventurers of England trading into Hudson's Bay". These eighteen men were to be, as the Charter said, "the true and absolute Lordes and Proprietors of the territory". In terms of land mass, the Adventurers obtained the provinces of Ontario and Quebec north of the Laurentian watershed and west of the Labrador boundary. Also included were the entire province of present day Manitoba, most of Saskatchewan, the southern half of Alberta, a large portion of the Northwest Territories, and part of present-day United States. In total the company controlled a basin of 1,486,000 square miles, or land equaling 38.7% of today's Canada.
To verify the power and control the company had, in 1821 the British Crowd conceded to the Company not only "the powers vested in them by the Charter," but added trading license over the whole of British North America. The sole trading rights of HBC to the entire watershed of Hudson Bay were recognized at last. This license was renewed in 1838 for a further twenty-one years.

IS MOVING! Eight years . That's how long Corona's Coming Attractions has been giving you the latest movie news and breaking exclusive scoops. We were the first website to focus on giving you the 411 about what Hollywood was making years before it would appear on a movie screen. We've broken dozens of major exclusives, were the first to show you Spider-Man 's movie costume, the sets of Eyes Wide Shut and who was being cast in the new Star Wars movies. We've watched our readership grow by huge leaps and bounds and struggled with trying to prove to the studios and mainstream media alike that an independant internet website can be a legitimate and leading source of entertainment news. And now I'm very happy to tell you about the latest chapter in Coming Attractions growth... Beginning March 2003, Coming Attractions has partnered exclusively with Cinescape magazine, the #1 leading genre entertainment magazine, and their website to provide you with the latest and greatest entertainment news. No, we haven't been bought out and absolutely nothing's changing about the way Coming Attractions reports about the movies; in fact, in addition to reporting the latest daily movie news we'll also be providing news from the realms of TV, home video, video games, comic books, novels, toys and more! In addition to providing you with more news from all areas of entertainment, Coming Attractions will also be the exclusive provider for Cinescape's "Development Heck" listings of movies in all levels of production. As well, all Coming Attractions message forum readers will soon be able to post on Cinescape's message forums!
