    As many of you may know, the current licensure regulations are being revised by the Board of Social Work Examiners (the "Board"). This group worked diligently over the last year to review the current regulations and make proposed changes to them based upon consumer protection issues or licensee feedback. These proposed changes were formally published in the January 21st New Jersey Register for public comment and can be found at: http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/proposal/swpro121.htm It is advisable that licensee and certificate holders read this published material in order to identify all of the proposed modifications. Examples of in-kind contributions include free t.v. time on the town's public access station, free space in the town newsletter, free use of municipal property, such as high school auditoriums and meeting rooms, and free space on a municipal website. This type of public financing would be geared toward small and mid-sized towns with less need for hard dollar financing. Clean Elections Bill

    January 13, 2003 A Position Statement on: Recommendations for Change Chapter 122 Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers
    Introduction/Position
    Licensing regulations for child care can play an important role in building an infrastructure to support quality early care and education programs. While licensing regulations ensure an “adequate” threshold of health and safety, many states are now setting standards through licensing requirements that raise the expectations for service delivery. Research has shown that the quality of care and education in an early childhood program (serving children below six years of age) and out-of-school-time programs is directly related to the educational background and experiences of the teachers. The Professional Standards Working Committee of the New Jersey Professional Development Center for Early Care and Education developed the Core Knowledge and Competency Areas for early care and education professionals working in the State of New Jersey in October 2001. Included in this document is a Career Lattice.

    Who Are We?
    Founded in 1990, NJTAP has gained visibility and credibility with industry as an extension service that:
    • provides environmental opportunity assessments;
    • functions as a clearinghouse for information related to pollution prevention;
    • delivers education and training; and
    • aids in the development and adoption of new pollution prevention technologies.
    In the nine years since its inception, NJTAP scientists and engineers have made more than four hundred site visits to manufacturing facilities. NJTAP identifies pollution prevention opportunities at New Jersey companies. In addition, a technical library of greater than one thousand articles and reports in approximately seventy sub-categories of pollution prevention has been developed to aid in the answering of enviromnmental questions. Alliances have been formed with sewerage authorities such as the Bergen County Utilities Authority and the Linden-Roselle Sewerage Authority for the development of curricula to train publicly owned treatment works personnel in pollution prevention techniques. In addition, NJTAP personnel together with industrial pretreatment coordinators have educated businesses about pollution prevention and its relationship to industrial pretreatment.
