Early settlers found islands covered with mixed-species subtropical rainforest, and inhabited by an abundant and highly endemic avifauna, including the Norfolk Island green parrot ( Cyanoramphus novaezelandiae cookii ). However, centuries of human habitation led to devastating land clearance and the catastrophic introduction of alien species. The islands’ native biota is now mainly restricted to protected areas. Location and General Description The Norfolk Island group is situated on a submarine ridge that runs between New Caledonia and the North Island of New Zealand (29°3' S, 167°58' E). The Norfolk group consists of Norfolk Island, a roughly square island comprising 35 km

    92. Azores Geography - Climate
East Coast of Santa Maria, 36° 57' N sign of extremely mild subtropical climateNorfolk island pine ( araucaria heterophylla ) in full form. Classification.
    http://www.terravista.pt/aguaalto/2251/geo_e.html
    Climate of the Azores
    • Microclimates of the Azores Microclimate of the Coast of Vila Franca do Campo
Factors for the mild climate The Azores, at a high subtropical latitude, have a extremely mild climate due to a warm maritime current and the absolutely oceanic position, more than 1400 km away from the continents. In other words, they share the normal residence of the subtropical high pressure known as Azores high. First of all I recommend that you give a look at the Santa Maria climate page , which is the Azores station with temperature and sunshine values more similar to Vila Franca to see the variation, for concrete periods, of:
    • daily maximum and minimum temperature monthly average (including the values of the five hotter and colder months of the period 1961-2003)
So if you did check the page, you see that the "4 seasons in a day weather" cliche has nothing to do with reality, at least at sea level. The opposite is the truth, at least in terms of temperature. To better value until which extent the temperatures in the Azores are constant and pleasant, see the comparison with the mildest climates of the world.
