First of all I recommend that you give a look at the Santa Maria climate page , which is the Azores station with temperature and sunshine values more similar to Vila Franca to see the variation, for concrete periods, of: daily maximum and minimum temperature monthly average (including the values of the five hotter and colder months of the period 1961-2003) So if you did check the page, you see that the "4 seasons in a day weather" cliche has nothing to do with reality, at least at sea level. The opposite is the truth, at least in terms of temperature. To better value until which extent the temperatures in the Azores are constant and pleasant, see the comparison with the mildest climates of the world.
