Dr. Roger Worner of Roger Worner Associates, Sartell, Minn., has completed over 400 organizational studies in a five-state area. Worner has more than 10 years of experience as an educational systems consultant.
Worner has held various administrative and teaching positions, including serving as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction for the Fargo Public Schools from 1969-1972. Later in his career he became superintendent of schools in Mason City, Iowa, from 1983-1986. From 1986-1990, Worner was superintendent of the Roseville Area Schools in Roseville, Minn.
Worner has written articles and papers for numerous publications and served as an adjutant graduate professor of educational administration and curriculum at institutions including Moorhead State University, Moorhead, Minn., and North Dakota State University, Fargo, N.D. He has served as a direct consultant or service provider to school districts, universities, business organizations, and state departments in 24 states, including Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Iowa.

May 21, 2001 (PIERRE) - Jeane Wharton has been selected to serve as state director for ExplorNet-South Dakota. As state director, Wharton will be working with the South Dakota Department of Education and Cultural Affairs and the Division of Workforce and Career Preparation to expand ExplorNet's Computer Recycling (CPR) program to the state's schools. Prior to joining ExplorNet, Wharton served as the Vice President of Member Services of the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry. "We are delighted to have someone with Jeane's skills and background to roll out our program in South Dakota," said Dave Boliek, ExplorNet's Chief Executive Officer. Computer Recycling (CPR) teaches students to upgrade, build, and repair computers. Students who successfully complete this program are prepared to take the A+ Certification exam, the industry standard for computer service technicians. The repaired computers can be deployed to classrooms or media centers throughout participating school districts so all students can benefit from the latest technology.

Service providers assist schools in Region VII
Six service providers serve educators and students in Region VII Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri. These service providers offer information and technical assistance, often free of charge, on issues ranging from equity to technology to special education.
Desegregation Assistance Centers
Desegregation Assistance Centers provide technical assistance, information and staff development to school districts dealing with a variety of educational equity issues, especially race, gender and national origin issues. DACs help districts develop and implement plans to end physical segregation of students between and within schools; develop and implement comprehensive plans to assure equal educational opportunity for students of color and students with limited English proficiency; and to identify and correct practices that discriminate between boys and girls of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds. DAC services include identification of resources, conducting needs assessment, short- and long-term training, data analysis for program implementation, policy review and modification, evaluation of programs and processes and long-term planning. NASA TEACHER RESOURCE CENTER NETWORK
The Education Division established a network of Regional Teacher Resource Centers at the nine NASA research facilities and universities and museums around the country to disseminate educational materials to elementary and secondary educators. Materials include videotapes, slides, audio tapes, publications, lesson plans and activities. Copies can be made at the centers. Teachers should contact the Center nearest them. It should be noted that all centers do not have information about all of NASA's activities nor do they stock the same materials. Specialized Resource Centers:
