43. News Release
potential of ohioState of the Arts and a clear example of the programming possibilitiesavailable with an open pipeline to ohio's k12 schools was realized
http://www.arts4all.com/osota/ood-osota1.htm
OHIO: State of the Arts
THE PROGRAMMING POTENTIAL OF OHIO: STATE OF THE ARTS,
DEMONSTRATED FOR K-12 STUDENTS ACROSS THE STATE WITH
"OUT OF THE DUST", A LIVE, MULTI-MEDIA, FREE VIDEOCONFERENCE EVENT.

The compelling potential of OHIO:State of the Arts and a clear example of the programming possibilities available with an open pipeline to Ohio's K-12 schools was realized with "Out of the Dust," a live, multi-media and multi-sensory videoconference event with artist/educator Steven Andresen on Monday, December 9th, 12:00 - 1:00 PM (EST). According to CEO Richard Humphrey, Arts4All, Ltd., a leading provider of digital Arts and Arts Education content who originally envisioned OHIO:State of the Arts, again funded opening the digital pipelines to provide the live event free to participating schools across Ohio. "Out of the Dust" uses the Arts to teach American history and introduces students to the various historical, agricultural, cultural and sociological perspectives on the exodus from the dust bowl of Oklahoma to a migratory life in the fields, vineyards and orchards of California. The class featured the journalism and prose of John Steinbeck, the lyrics and ballads of Woody Guthrie, and the provocative photographic images of Dorothea Lange, Arthur Rothstein and Walker Evans as well as footage from archival film documentaries and clips from the film version of "The Grapes of Wrath". Steven Andresen holds a Masters Degree in Education from Lesley University and has taught master classes and directed at theatres, schools and universities throughout the USA and abroad. His K-20 classes for Arts4All range from "Lyle, Lyle Crocodile" to "Inside Shakespeare", "From Clowning to Combat", "Out of the Dust" and "Scene Coaching" and are among the most requested by teachers and students alike.

threepronged project that includes wiring the state's k-12 schools for connection inhelping educators integrate cutting edge technology into ohio classrooms
http://www.oet.edu/education.html
Education is our middle name at OET. Assisting Ohio's public broadcasters as they provide quality educational programming and resources is the drive behind each initiative of the agency. Ohio public television stations provide learning opportunities to Ohioans of all ages through public television programming and the use of new technologies. The OET information and education services department works closely with the public television stations throughout the state to support their educational activities and assist with administrative items. K-12 SchoolNet Higher Education K-12
OET works with each of Ohio's eight educational technology agencies to determine which ITV programs are most useful in meeting Ohio's educational goals. Through a special group purchase, OET acquires and distributes 5000 hours of programming designed for K-12 classroom use and available through Ohio's public television stations. The state's eight educational technology agencies are each affiliated with the public television station in its area. As a state network we are able to reach every elementary and secondary school throughout the state of Ohio, making this both an efficient and equitable way to distribute resources.
