The Oregon City School District includes a high school, two middle schools, and four elementary schools and one in Jerusalem township. Also located in the City is Cardinal Stritch High School, a coeducational parochial school. In addition to the Oregon Schools, the region is serviced by The University of Toledo The Medical College of Ohio , Lourdes College, Michael J. Owen's Technical college Bowling Green State University , and Penta County Vocational School . All of these schools are within about one-half hour drive time.
A good education does not exist in a vacuum. We, in the City of Oregon School District, pride ourselves in our efforts to invite and include our entire community. We understand that it is important to become involved with the educational process for our children. The research is clear on how meaningful it is for adults, especially parents and grandparents, to take an active interest in the educational process of children. The well known statement that, "it takes a whole village to educate a child," is especially true in our community. The partnership between the school and community is one of the strongest aspects of our educational program. Listed below are some of the programs that help our students grow and learn.:

Dennis Melia, of Brick, has been selected as the “Successful Graduate” by the Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS). A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Melia graduated from the culinary program at OCVTS in 1976. He was a student of the late instructor Paul Gertner and Phil Cohen, a retired instructor. He later completed the American Culinary Federation’s apprenticeship program and studied under several European chefs. He continues to arrange apprenticeships for culinary graduates at area hotels. In 1990, Melia returned to the vocational technical school as a baking instructor under Norman Gertner. When Gertner retired in 1999, Melia took over the baking program.

Setting Access Standards for High School Career/Technical Programs
West Virginia’s Policy In the fall of 2000, under the provisions of an equity law suit, a Vocational Offerings Committee addressed the programming, personnel, delivery and alignment issues associated with public secondary vocational-technical education in West Virginia. The committee proposed a program of study access recommendations that focus on local system capacity to serve a minimum percentage of high school students in vocational-technical offerings that have been approved by the state board and are in the public comment phase:
    • 30% of students in grades 11 through 12 be provided access to four units in a vocational- technical concentration and two technical electives; 30% of students in grades 11 through 12 be provided access to two units in a vocational- technical concentration; 80% of students in grades nine through 10 be provided access to at least one vocational-technical foundation unit; and schools should provide students access to skilled and entry-level preparation in a minimum of four of the following career clusters:
      • Health Business/marketing Science/natural resources Engineering/technical and adult education services Human services.
