The Office of School Improvement Programs (SIP) supports the mission of the U.S. Department of Education and the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education by providing programs that improve the quality of teaching and learning, support choice in public schools and communities while respecting the individual differences and learning styles of all children. Equity Assistance Centers (EACs): A nationwide system of 10 Equity Assistance Centers (EACs) that provide technical assistance to K-12 schools in their efforts to help all students learn to high standards whatever their race, gender, or national origin. We are a part of the Oklahoma AHEC network. We serve the following counties in Southeastern Oklahoma; Leflore, Haskell, Sequoyah, McCurtain, Coal, Bryan, Pittsburg, McIntosh, Latimer, Pushmataha, Choctaw, Atoka, Hughes, Seminole, Pontotoc, Johnson, and Marshall. Other AHEC programs in OK include: OK AHEC Program Office (Tulsa), OCHEC (Tulsa), NE AHEC (Tulsa), NW AHEC/RHP (Enid), and SW AHEC (Lawton). SeOK AHEC is located on the campus of Carl Albert State College in Poteau, OK.
