Shortly thereafter, the rebel groups, or mujahadin, began fighting each other, culminating in a civil war that is still underway. The Taliban, a group of Islamic fundamentalists, controls 90% of Afghanistan, including the capital of Kabul. The allow Osama bin Laden, a former mujahadin soldier, to set up camp in Afghanistan as their "guest."
