Do you think it is theortically posible to obtain petrol from the herb on a large scale
There are some assertions that it negates simple chemical laws and energetics. What is your comment
As a petroleum engineer you shoud be in a position to come out with cleare solutions.

Laura L. Langer
Petroleum Engineer
Dinosaurs attracted Laurie Langer to earth science. At the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, she saw dinosaur bones and also remembers a special exhibit on petroleum that she visited several times when she was nine years old. She first decided to be an earth scientist when she bought a rock hammer when she was ten! She changed her interests many times between then and when she got her master of science degree in petroleum engineering at age 27. As an undergraduate she changed her major several times from biology to chemistry to geology, but she finished in math because it was the only thing she could finish in one year. She then got a Master of Science degree in math at the University of Colorado and was working on a graduate degree in education at Stanford University when she began tutoring a petroleum engineering student in math. She decided she liked what he was taking better than her own classes and changed majors once again from education to earth science. If you are interested in an earth science career, she suggests you take all the math and science you can in high school plus history, art and other electives to expand your intellectual interests and analytic skills. She is married and has four children ages 7 to 18 and says that balancing family life and a career is definitely possible! Growing up in a family of ten children with both parents working professionally (a teacher and an engineer), it never occurred to Laurie that you couldn't both work and raise a family. She has been pregnant in school and at work and while traveling overseas and recommends having children while in school, but adds that one needs to find a supportive mate.

Career Profile
I joined Marathon Oil after graduating from Heriot-Watt. The first year I spent as an onshore production engineer responsible for all intervention activities conducted on the Brae Bravo platform. I found that I enjoyed working offshore and elected to spend more time in the field. I spent my final year as an offshore well services supervisor.
I began work with BP in February 1998 and began as a petroleum engineer in Aberdeen in a group called Shared Petrotechnical Resource. Three days after I joined BP, I found myself on a short-term assignment in Caracas, Venezuela, planning and supervising an exploration well test in the Orinoco Delta. After Venezuela I spent five months working well-test issues in the North Sea before returning to Caracas for five months to plan and execute a land-based exploration well test in the midst of a palm forest plantation.

petroleum engineer Newly graduated petroleum engineers will probably beginto do field work under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
http://www.civil.ualberta.ca/petroleum/undergrad/profile.html
Petroleum Engineer Occupational Profile Petroleum engineers are involved in the development of oil and gas fields. They apply the principles of geology, physics and the engineering sciences to the recovery, development and processing of petroleum. As soon as an exploration team has located a structure that could contain oil or gas, petroleum engineers begin their work. Petroleum engineers are involved in:
  • Making recommendations regarding the best location for drilling a well. Collecting data as the drilling progresses to determine if the well contains significant quantities of hydrocarbons that can be recovered economically to warrant developing the field. Making decisions on the appropriate well completion technique. Assessing costs Evaluating underground information Monitoring reservoir performance Determining ways of improving production, and Estimating both the immediate petroleum capacity of the well and its lifetime production capacity
Pet roleum engineers beginning their careers will usually work in the oil field, overseeing the collection and analysis of oil and gas well data. They may also coordinate drilling activities and safety procedures. In remote locations, they may work on-site for a week to 10 days, then receive a week off. Engineers working in oil fields and on offshore drilling rigs will often work 12-hour shifts. They may use a personal computer to analyze samples at the site.
