Quebec Writers' Federation
Welcome to the Quebec Writers’ Federation The Quebec Writers’ Federation (QWF) was created in 1998 to represent the interests of English language writers living in Quebec, and to promote and encourage our literary arts in the community. How do we do that? By organizing an annual literary awards ceremony with thousands in prize money; by communicating with all levels of government; by increasing public awareness of literary arts and institutions through public activities; and by encouraging dialogue between anglophone and francophone literary communities.
QWF grew out of the strong roots put down by the Federation of English Writers of Quebec (FEWQ) and the Quebec Society for the Promotion of English Language Literature (QSPELL).
Most of all, the Quebec Writers’ Federation is you. We’re always ready to welcome any new members.
WHAT WE DO
In order to promote and encourage English language writing and writers in Quebec, QWF is involved in a wide range of activities, publications and programmes. They include:
- A Mentorship program that pairs emerging writers with established authors on writing projects
- Writing workshops to hone skills, such as travel-writing, marketing for freelancers, novel-writing, poetry, songwriting, writing for children, etc.

Publications welcome eager writers and artists by Amy Walter Viking Logue Vol. 33 No. 1 Blood. Sweat. Tears. Winston Churchill would have made a phenomenal Viking Logue editor. The issue you hold in your hands is nearly the 30th I have worked on during my two-year newspaper career. In that time my co-editors and I have poured our time, energy, mental powers, creativity and souls into the bottomless pit known as the Logue. We interview, write, photograph, revise, draw, copy-edit, layout and distribute in continual tri-weekly cycles, and we practically live at school in the meantime. Why the insanity? One possible answer: we're masochists. The more likely (and correct) answer: we get a great feeling of satisfaction with the publication of each issue. And being on the school newspaper looks great on college applications. Plus, we're the first to find out about goings-on at Fremd, and we really do have fun together while learning valuable lessons in communication, relationships and work-ethics. We have four departments (news, fine arts, features and sports) that are eagerly awaiting your reporting skills.

" African Canadian literature is a wonderful mixture of the words of those born here, and those who have come. Often it is about change, and acts as a bridge between "here" (Canada) and "there" (where one comes from). It is this marriage of diversities that gives the literature of African Canadians its energy." In the literature section of this site you will find the following resources on African-Canadian writers and their works:

Welcome to T'AI CHI Magazine and Wayfarer Publications T'AI CHI Magazine in the leading international magazine for persons interested in T'ai Chi Ch'uan (Taijiquan), Qigong, and other internal martial arts, as well as those interested in similar Chinese disciplines which contribute to fitness, health, and a balanced personal sense of well being. Now in its 26th year, it is respected for the quality of its content and the continuing effort to contribute to the development of T'ai Chi Ch'uan world wide. It's feature articles are written by and about international authorities from China and Western countries. The growth of T'ai Chi Ch'uan depends on the ability of practitioners to get good information about the theory, principles and practice. The staff of T'AI CHI Magazine works hard to provide this information. T'AI CHI Magazine was started in 1977 as a 4-page newsletter by Marvin Smalheiser, who has practiced T'ai Chi since the 1960s. It has evolved into an 92-page magazine circulated all over the world. It is available by subscription and at independent and chain stores throughout the U.S. and Canada. The magazine has created a large body information that has contributed substantially to the development of T'ai Chi Ch'uan outside of China. This continuing service and the integrity of the magazine has won a loyal following of readers.
