Geography
Quebec is bounded on the N by Hudson Strait and Ungava Bay, on the E by the Labrador area of Newfoundland and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, on the S by New Brunswick and the United States, and on the W by Ontario, James Bay, and Hudson Bay. Quebec is Canada's largest province; it is three times the size of France and seven times the size of Great Britain. The Canadian (or Laurentian) Shield underlies the northern nine tenths of the province, which is relatively unexplored and uninhabited; the region has been planed by glacial action into a pattern of rounded hills (including the Laurentian Mts.), swiftly flowing rivers, and numerous lakes and bogs. Dense forests cover much of the land, and the region is rich in minerals. South of the Canadian Shield lies the great St. Lawrence River. On both sides of the river south of Quebec city are lowlands that are the centers of agriculture, commerce, and industry. Quebec city and are on the north bank of the river, and Montreal , the leading industrial center of Canada, occupies an island where the Ottawa River joins the St. Lawrence. Another industrial center is the region of

The small farms of the lowlands yield dairy products, sugar beets, and tobacco. Quebec is second to Ontario among the Canadian provinces in industrial production. Its main manufactures include refined petroleum, food products, beverages, motor vehicles, aircraft, clothing, furniture, iron and steel, chemicals, and metal and paper products. The fur and fishing trades are still important in Quebec. The service sector has grown significantly since 1970. Although many anglophone businesses have abandoned the Montreal area since the 1960s in response to separatist agitation and provincial laws requiring the nearly exclusive use of French, Quebec continues to be a center of international commerce. Montreal and Quebec city are both tourist magnets. Sections in this article:

External Links Pullman Kids: Geography: Canada provides pictures and descriptions of various parts of the country. Canada is the largest country (i.e. in area) in the world. It is composed of ten provinces and three territories. It is bounded on the western edge by the Pacific Ocean, on the northern edge by the Arctic Ocean, on the eastern edge by the Atlantic Ocean, and on the southern edge by the United States of America (USA) . The edge running between countries is called a "border". In Canada, the country of the United States of America (U.S.A.) is either called "the States" (as in "We're going to the States for the weekend") or "the U.S." (as in "There's no public health care in the U.S."). If you want to enrage a Canadian then go ahead and refer to the States as "America". After all, Canada is in North America and so is Mexico A popular symbol of Canada is the mountie. A mountie is a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (R.C.M.P.). Their fancy dress uniform is brilliant red as illustrated in the photo taken on Parliament Hill, Ottawa on Canada Day. Canada Day is July 1st and is Canada's birthday. It used to be called Dominion Day.

quebec City is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. In fact,in 1985 quebec City was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
http://www.rtsq.qc.ca/quebec/dc014.htm
What does it look like?
Quebec City is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. In fact, in 1985 Quebec City was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The city itself is located on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River, near the point where the St. Charles River meets the St. Lawrence. Upper Town is located on top of the Cap-Diamant, a promontory (a point of high land jutting out over the water) 98 metres high. Lower Town is the part of the city located at shore level, below the promontory. Several suburbs, such as Sainte-Foy, Sillery, Cap-Rouge, Charlesbourg, Beauport, and Ancienne-Lorette surround the city. The only walled city north of Mexico, Quebec City is a alive with history. A high stone wall still surrounds the old part of the city.
The region boasts many breathtaking landmarks. The Plains of Abraham , located near on the edge of the promontory overlooking the St. Lawrence River offer much to do in both summer and winter. Further up the river the Montmorency Falls are also a must see. Linking the south shore with the north shore of the St. Lawrence River are the two bridges The Jacques Cartier River as well as the Chaudiere River empty themselves in the St. Lawrence close to Quebec City.
