Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney filed legislation that would provide funding for state agencies to purchase as much as 20% of their electricity from renewable energy sources over the next 20 years. The legislation calls for $17 million to be used for future state purchases of green power in exchange for using $17 million from the state's Renewable Energy Trust Fund to help reduce the state budget deficit. The Fund, which is administered by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative , was created through the state's electricity restructuring law and is financed through a monthly surcharge on electric utility bills.

VI ROTATIONS A ORIENTATION The month-long orientation program has become a cherished mainstay of the emergency medicine residency program. Its purpose is to expose residents to several areas of emergency care as it applies to the Brown University integrated program, and to ease the intern into residency in a controlled environment. During orientation, new interns meet one another and develop lasting relationships. The schedule allows them to settle into the community and prepare for their internship year. Although the orientation program content has changed over time, it maintains a basic structure over the first month of residency. The program’s didactics consist of lectures from the faculty, a medical Spanish course, computer classes, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, casting, suture and cadaver labs. During orientation the interns work a reduced clinical load, to both reinforce the lessons learned in conference and to allow proper acclimatization to the Emergency Department. Interns will work approximately 2 shifts/week. Clinical time will not interfere with the didactic portion of the program.

East Greenwich, Rhode Island
East Greenwich, close to the center of Rhode Island, has enough history, art, shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and landscapes to occupy anyone exploring Rhode Island. Most of it is squeezed in the town's "Hill and Harbor District", which includes its classic Main Street. Coming south on Post Road, you enter Main Street at the historic red brick Varnam Armory. The armory was constructed in 1913, so the term 'historic' may be a bit misleading. It was built by the Varnam Regulars, a local militia in the days before the National Guard. But where the armory may be 20th century, the Varnum Regulars militia dates from the Revolutionary War. In the years since then, the armory has been a regular site for political ralleys and public gatherings. Its museum is open by appointment and features military weapons, uniforms, medals, and other military artifacts.
