William first arrived in PEI about 1768 and sailed many vessels to and from the Island before permanently settling in the Three Rivers area in 1788. William was a sea-captain, business man, adventurer and prosperous entrepreneur. He was also a Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly for many years. There is a stone at the rear of the cemetery close to the fence, just to the left of the road bisecting the cemetery as you walk toward the rear away from University Avenue for Ellendor Judson who died in 1827. Her date of death on her stone is Feb 14, 1827 and she is listed as being thirty years on the stone giving a birth date c.a. 1797. Ellendor is listed in some records as Ellen and others as Ellen or Ellendor Jetson. She was the daughter of William Judson and Ann McMullan who lived in Alexandria. William and his first wife Ellen McKenzie emigrated from England to the Carolinas and then came to Prince Edward Island as Loyalists, a soldier disbanded in 1786 who received a land grant in lot 65. Since Loyalist Lineages shows only his first children and stops with William Jr. who was born in 1789, it is to be supposed that Ellendor who was born in or around 1796 was a child of his second marriage to Ann McMullan.
