The six week program has been called "bootcamp for writers" and may important sf and fantasy writers have come from the graduating ranks. During the fifth week, a professional editor comes for the weekend to talk about writing from an editor's point of view. Clarion West Writers' Workshop the sister to the above, is an excellent writers' workshop specializing in sf and fantasy, which takes place annually in Seattle, Washington. Each week, a different professional writer teaches the class of about 20 students. The fifth week, a professional editor takes over the class for the entire week. Block, Francesca Lia
Circlet Press Oh, what a lovely book! Francesca Lia Block is well-known for her lush Young Adult fantasies (especially her Weetzie Bat books), but this time she's writing for a decidedly adult audience. This series of interwoven short erotic tales is a delightful blend of magic, sex and life. The stories use fantasy and mood as a backdrop for characters with personal difficulties with relationships and sex. Those who prefer realistic fiction or are very into plot might find these stories frustrating; the interconnections are circular, not linear, and the imagery is where a lot of the sensuality comes from (though most of them are still very hot). But there is a tenderness and understanding throughout these stories that is uncommon in much erotic writing; one of these stories even made Heather cry (and another came pretty darn close). And the book itself is a pocket-sized hardcover that's as cute as a button. A truly rare offering from one of today's most original fantasy writers. (2000, 127 pp.)

H.G. Wells: The Time Machine A complete and unabridged edition of Wells's classic novel of the future follows the Time Traveller as he hurtles one million years into the future and encounters the childlike Eloi and the frightening Morlocks. In this great classic, Wells not only defined one of the enduring themes of SF (time travel), but he actually meant this to be a social commentary on the growing disparity between the working and wealthy classes.
Neuromancer by William Gibson William Gibson through the 1990's has been one of the most original talents SF has seen in a generation. He's a writer who has helped redefine a large segment of the genre. This is a fine representative novel by one of the most popular authors in a field full of leaders.
The Rediscovery of Man
the complete short stories of Cordwainer Smith One of the great names in the history of science fiction! One of the early anthologies of this same material was titled "You Will Never Be The Same." And after I read it, I never was the same again as a writer, an artist, a thinker. To walk in the worlds of wonder of Cordwainer Smith is to experience the universe in a new way. More recent contenders include Michael Swanwick, but the hurdle is very, very high. Makes you understand that "sigh-fie" can be transcendant literature. These are treasures that all too few people have discovered. Read him if you are a poet and an imagineer.

Ebook Heaven has ever been your source for good quality , but that is only part of what we have to offer. My name is Mark Cooper and I am the author of The Devan Chronicles, a fantasy series available to purchase both off and on-line. Ebook Heaven is my attempt to promote worthy works of fiction in both ebook and print formats. Of course it began with my own fantasy, but since then it has grown into something quite different to what I had envisioned. With the addition of such categories as; Science Fiction, Horror, Adventure, Romance, and True Crime among others, I hope you'll agree with me that Ebook Heaven has an even wider appeal than it did at its inception. Still, at its core, Ebook Heaven remains a science fiction and fantasy site. Fans will continue to enjoy new books and ebooks by up and coming authors in their favourite genre. Fantasy is still my first love, I hope to continue writing in the genre for many years to come. Enjoy your stay, and come back often.

Romance Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy by Paul M. Carhart While attending the Pikes Peak Writer's conference this past May, I opted to sit in on a Science Fiction and Fantasy workshop. One of the speakers was Greg Keyes, whose work I admire. I mention this only to properly credit him with a statement of comparrison he made regarding sci-fi and fantasy. Of course, I'll have to loosely paraphrase here. "Science fiction," he said, "is about where we may be going. Fantasy, on the other hand, is about what we will take with us." If Mr. Keyes statement is true, then sci-fi and fantasy are two sides of the same coin. So lets take a look at the fundamental differences and similarities between these two commonly linked genres. Modern fantasy seems to usually borrow from Tolkien. Elves, orcs, dwarves, dragons and wizards are common denziens of such worlds. But Tolkein himself borrowed from English tradition and myth. Whatever the era, fantasy seems to be most commonly associated with extraordinary powers and a face off between good and evil. Given this definition, do not Spider-Man, Batman and Superman fall into the realm of fantasy? Certainly Harry Potter does.
