Primary school TABOR II
Our School is Narrating
New parts of the town on the southern side of Maribor and numerous children eager for knowledge are the reason of my birth. Inhabitants of Maribor and its surroundings have built it with their own money. I have been built by builders of Konstruktor. My building wasn't finished when I was handed over to usage in September, 1983. On the Day of Pioneers when I was proclaimed open, I was given the name of a Montenegro revolutionary Veljko Vlahovic - the name of my sister school, where was the management of it. The gymnasium and the kitchen were built in the first year. The neighbourhood was partly by now. Thousands of pupil's arms and legs were embracing, stroking and demolishing me when they filled the desks every school year. I've been living in a shadow of my sister school for a long time, but finally I went on my own. I started my self-governing in 1993, when I was ten years old and I got a new name "Osnovna sola Tabor II". Mummy's daughters, naisy fellows, sportsmen and young philosophers have been going through my cells. I know them like noone else. That's why I'm very proud when the morning sun is lighting on my face and numerous cups, praises and medals are shining. They were received by my pupils with their mentors for their results on the fields of knowledge, sport and culture.

    Slovenia
    HISTORY
From as early as the ninth century, Slovenia has fallen under foreign rulers, including partial control by Bavarian dukes and the Republic of Venice. With the exception of Napoleon's 4-year tutelage of parts of Slovenia and Croatia the "Illyrian Provinces" Slovenia was part of the Hapsburg empire from the 14th century until 1918. Nevertheless, Slovenia resisted Germanizing influences and retained its unique Slavic language and culture. As a young independent republic, Slovenia pursued economic stabilization and further political openness, while emphasizing its Western outlook and central European heritage. Today, with a growing regional profile, as a nonpermanent member of the UN Security Council, a participant in the SFOR deployment in Bosnia, and a charter WTO member, Slovenia plays a role on the world stage quite out of proportion to its small size (population 2 million).

The former Yugoslav royal family took this residence over in the 20s and enjoyed their summers here until the start of World War 2. http://www.fructal.si/eng/fructalov-svet/jablana/index2.html
var homepageID="fructal" The history of apple tree in Slovenia Nurturing of apple tree in Slovenia has a reach tradition and represents an important farming activity as well as gives a specific image of the Slovenian landscape. Apple trees grew on their own from Neolithic, the time when people in Slovenia lived in small settlements. By the time of Roman emporium apple trees were quite common in Slovenia and when Slovenians came to this area they already found apple trees and other fruit. The nobles, the church and the convents applied a lot of effort in evolution of fruit cultivation. New sorts of apples came to Slovenia from the west , the north and the south. At the break down of feudalism the fruit growing expanded as the state took control over the economy of the nation. Tree growers who had collections of various sorts of apples and tree plantations were established. The cultivation of apple tree reached its peak at fruit cultivating shows in Ljubljana in the 1847 and 1863. Lacking of food in second half of 19th century affected the acceleration of farming, especially fruit growing. With new south railway, speedy transport was possible, first fruit merchants appeared and first fruit growing schools were also established.
