If you are busy and don't have time to cook, but want something that makes those you love think you were in the kitchen for hours, then this page is for you! Easy Bake Pizza

Ingredients:

2 packages buttermilk or country biscuits (I use the Pillsbury brand - 7 1/2 oz)
1 small onion-chopped
1 greenpepper-chopped
1 jar prepared spaggetti sauce (14 oz.)
1 lb. bulk italian sausage
chop up any other "pizza" ingredients you may like, i.e. mushrooms, pepperoni, etc.
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese. Pre-Heat the oven to 375 degrees and grease a 9X13 inch pan. In a skillet brown the sausage over medium low heat; while the meat is browning dice up the greenpepper, onion or your choice of ingredients.
Add the sauce and your pizza ingredients (onions, peppers, etc) to the skillet, cook for about 5 minutes. Turn off heat, set aside. On a cutting board lay out your raw biscuit dough and cut each piece in 1/2. Take 1/2 of your batch of cut-up biscuits and layer in the bottom of your baking dish, (bottom won't be covered, rolls will expand while cooking). Layer over the biscuits 1/2 of the sauce mixture, then add 1 cup of the cheese. Place another layer of biscuits over this, layer with the sauce and cheese.

Prep: 30 minutes Yield: 2 gal Cook: 1 - 1« hours Portion Size: 6 fl oz Finish: 30 minutes Num Portions: 42 Shelf: 2 days Tools: Blender, China Cap, French Knife, Stock Pot Quantity Unit Ingredient ea yellow onion , chopped ea leek clove garlic , minced ea celery , chopped cup butter lb asparagus tbl dried thyme ea bay leaf tbl ground white pepper qt water lb spinach , washed to taste salt
Procedure: Saute the first 4 ingredients in the butter until very soft, about 15 minutes. While this is cooking, wash the asparagus very well, and trim off any dirty ends. Cut the tips about 2" long, and set aside for later. Coarsely chop the rest of the stems and add to the vegetables that are cooking. Add in the thyme, bay leaf, and pepper, and cook another 10 minutes. Add the water and simmer for 30 minutes, until all of the vegetables are very tender. Remove from the heat and allow to cool for 15 minutes. Puree the contents of the pot, adding spinach as you process until all are pureed. Pass the soup through a china cap and return to the heat. Season to taste with salt and pepper and stir in the reserved asparagus tips. Simmer the soup for 5 minutes until they are crisp tender. Serve the soup topped with the hazelnut butter listed in this database. ****The soup may be enriched with chicken stock, though it will no longer be a vegetarian soup.****

Procedure: Put the first 8 ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 1 hour. Add the split peas and simmer the soup until the ham hocks are tender. Remove the hocks and continue to simmer the soup until the peas are tender. Cut the meat from the bone and add it back into the soup. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

W hen the languid days of summer arrive, here's our brief chance to grab what we can of sun, sand and...soup. Okay, so soup might not be something that springs immediately to your mind when thinking of summer pleasures, but for me, there's nothing more refreshing on a warm summer day than a bowl of cold soup. When my thoughts first turn to chilled soups, I start by making a favorite gazpacho recipe. Like the other cold soups that follow, gazpacho is ideal summer fare because you need not even turn on a stove to make it. To round out a meal of cold soup, add a substantial salad, a good bread, and if you'd like, some fresh corn-on-the-cob. Transforming late summer's lush fruits and vegetables into cool, flavorful elixirs whets the wilted appetite like nothing else can! GAZPACHO

  • Get 4 cups of water with one tablespoon of flour in it and soak the beans for 8 hours. Rinse the beans, combine them with 6 cups of chicken stock in a large saucepan and simmer, covered, for around one hour. Add the mushrooms to the cooked beans. Also add the green beans, carrots, olive oil and a couple of pinches of salt and pepper. Add another two cups of water, bring to boil and simmer coverd for approximately 30 minutes. Add pasta, some more pepper and tomatoes, cook for about 10 minutes. It's now ready to eat.
