Windsock Gallery Art Links About Us ... Windforest News Page Tethered in the sun, windsocks are soft sculptured art forms that seem to glow by their own inner light and will put a shimmering hint of color into any landscape or room (deck, porch, boat or yard). Catching a little breath of breeze or billowing out in heavy winds, windsocks stand uniquely as a celebration of light, color and motion. Throughout the ages, windsocks have been flown as a symbol of good luck and longevity. Originating in China and Japan, they were made of fine silk or paper and usually found in the shapes of fish. These time honored traditions of quality and artistry are maintained to the present day by our unique and varied motifs, both ancient and modern, and by our use of the finest material: rip stop nylon. This tough urethane-coated material is the same space-age fabric used in hot air balloons and modern parachutes.
