It was worth waiting through all those "NOT AVAILABLE NOW" messages while they were working on their website! Two methods of searching are available:
  • "global search" - Just type in your ancestor's name on the search tab data fields, and press enter. Matching names from all databases at the site will show up on the hit list. Entries from the IGI, Ancestral File, etc. may be listed in addition to any matching entries in the census records. "specific census search" - diagram shown below. "Beginning Swedish" is the introductory Swedish language course, targeting students interested in Swedish language and culture with no prior knowledge of either. Students were generally pleased with Professor Weinstein, emphasizing the "fun-factor" of the course. Although some criticized the professor for moving through the material somewhat quickly, she was praised for her clear explanations and receptiveness to questions. Students all agreed that the professor was an excellent teacher, with the ability to make the material interesting and entertaining through personal anecdotes and other techniques. The majority of the respondents felt that the workload was very manageable, spending about four to six hours a week on homework. Assignments included vocabulary exercises, writing assignments, and a fifteen-minute oral presentation. Over the course of the semester, there were a total of three quizzes and a final exam. A few students felt that there was insufficient homework although enough to help the reviewers with their Swedish. A few of the respondents also mentioned that studying for the quizzes and exam was a strenuous experience. Every one of the respondents appeared to have enjoyed taking the course immensely, all agreeing that the course was a worthwhile and enjoyable experience. Although the class felt that the course required much effort to learn the new language, many felt that the professor"s efforts to make the class fun and entertaining were quite motivating and outweighed the amount of effort they invested in the course. Reading period was not observed by the professor, who held class and the final. Overall, the students were happy to have taken the course, leaving with a fair understanding of Swedish language and culture.

Student Helper Team
EU Contest - Bergen 2001 relies on the assistance of a team of student helpers. They are present to give the participants, national organisers, jury, staff and others all the assistance they want. We have been fortunate to have very experienced student helpers at EU Contest - Bergen 2001. The composition of the student helper team reflects the strong links between the Scandinavian youth science organisations. We are also happy to include non-Nordic student helpers in our team. Sifting through the first decade of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet by Lawrence Adams Among many papers in a file, I came across the following. Origin unknown. It fitted perfectly into my ponderings on the beginnings of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Most fossils that have been found in caves come from layered deposits in the floors. The layers are not all the same. Some consist of rubbish that the cave dwellers have left there, trampling it down, pushing it aside: bones of animals that have been eaten and flung into corners, mixed with flaked stone tools, antlers, traces of charcoal from long-dead fires, bits of fossilized excrement containing the crunched bones of mice and shrews all whispering of past human habitation. "Throwaway" is the word man uses for his culture today. Throwaway it has always been. The habitation layer, with its bones and artifacts, is of course, the layer that will contain human fossils if there are any in the cave. Many layers contain no bones at all. They represent periods when the cave was uninhabited, times when nothing but blown-in dust settled and solidified on the cave floor. It may have piled many feet deep, indicating a change in the climate that may have forced people out of the region entirely for tens of thousands of years. That ebb and flow of humanity may be traced by the presence of a second habitation floor higher up, followed by another exodus. The layer-cake analogy returns: a fossil horizon, a dust horizon one on top of another. The archeologist has only to do his homework conscientiously, noting the position of everything as he digs deeper, to reconstruct the history of that cave.

Ten Points to Consider in Selecting an In-Room Air Purifier Contact:
Bengt Rittri
For Immediate Release
October 21, 2002 Use of air filtration not only makes air clean and pure, but also enhances a person's energy, alertness, and comfort. At the same time, it helps individuals with respiratory aliments enhance their quality of life. Air purifiers also help alleviate allergy and asthma symptoms.
With in-room air filtration fast becoming recognized as a legitimate tool for improving personal and public health, air purifiers are being used not only in the home, but also in the office, hospital, laboratory, restaurant, hotel and school.
To make the most of this useful technology, it is essential to do some basic research before purchasing a unit. Before purchase, an analysis of room size, the allergens and pollutants that may be present and any personal health concerns should be made. Doing a proper analysis will allow matching the need with the technology and save time and money in the long run.
Available Technologies
In-room air purification systems utilize two basic technologies: mechanical or electrostatic filtration, or a combination of both. Both technologies are based on four well-understood principles that describe air flow between obstructions (filter fibers) and the behavior of particles as they ride the air stream through the filter media.

These are reported as actual instructions given by manuals or directions accompanying consumer products. So what do we have here? Some pretty good, atmospheric sympho-black with the main base, if I'm not mistaken, located in the republic of France. Excellent arrangements, wonderful record quality - tip-top, y'know. Some of the most diehard fans of the genre are likely to be found climaxing in mini-orgasms while listening to this CD, but the rest of the public is not really to be bothered. I mean, with the likes of Anorecxia Nervosa or even Seth in the presence, Ad Inferna look if not pale, than at least uninteresting. I understand that these guys did do their best, but with the genre itself being all worn-out, it just doesn't work anymore. (Troll)

CHAPTER 3: PROCEDURES
From: The Internet as an Educational Tool in ESOL Writing Instruction, by Karla Frizler
OVERVIEW
In June 1995, I opened the doors of Frizzy University Network (FUN), a friendly online environment in which non-native speakers of English living outside of English-speaking countries could improve their ability and confidence in writing in English. Futu re plans for FUN include grammar workshops, individualized tutoring and a variety of non-traditional writing courses, including Creative Writing for ESOL students. Over an eight-week period during Summer 1995, I taught the first online EFL composition class through FUN. FUN 101, a free, non-credit, university-level course which took place from June 5 through July 28, 1995, was conducted entirely online, via the Int ernet, through e-mail, a MOO, and a home page on the World Wide Web. [see Appendix 1 for Course Outline] The class itself never met synchronously, but I met with each of the students individually, in real time, for essay conferences and less formal meetings during regularly-scheduled office hours. In addition, the students interacted with each other via e-m ail, discussing topics and exchanging essays for peer review. Though the students participating in FUN 101 did not receive university credit, I did give them feedback on their writing based on the following grading scale:
