The number has more than tripled since 1950, with the greatest increase in regional museums, which accounted for 42% of the total in 1998. In 1999 museums registered some ten million entries.
However, many of the small museums of local history, established by enthusiasts, face financial difficulties and are worried that knowledge massed by their founders will be lost as they are unable to document their collections sufficiently.
On the other hand, as far as fine art is concerned, there has been an upsurge in the establishment of prestigious museums by private collectors, such as the Beyeler foundation in Basle, and the planned Klee museum in Berne.

84. Travel And Culture: My Switzerland Experience
While many aspects of the Swiss culture are similar to America's, there are lotsof differences, too. The environment in switzerland is a lot cleaner, too.
http://www.teenink.com/Past/2001/April/Travel/MySwitzerland.html
W hat do you think of when someone mentions good chocolate, watches, the Alps, cows and cheese? You might think of Switzerland, but these things don't give the whole picture because they say nothing about the Swiss people. Last summer I got a real taste of Swiss life and self-reliance when I spent six weeks with a host family in the Bernese Alps.
After much preparation and many last-minute errands, my departure time arrived. Needless to say, I was pretty nervous. All I knew about my host family was that it consisted of two parents and three kids: an 18-year-old girl and two boys (15 and 10). I knew I was staying in a place called Erlenbach in central Switzerland. Although I had read about Switzerland, I really didn't know what to expect.
Now, let's back up for a second. I am not an incredibly outgoing person. Like many, I am loud and energetic around friends, but in class I'm shy and find it hard to speak up during discussions. Traveling to a foreign country to live with unfamiliar people would be difficult for anyone, and not many choose to engage in these programs for fear of unfamiliar things and being away from home. For me, homesickness has never been an issue, but I did have reservations. Doubts like Will my host family like me? What if I hate them? What if I get lost? What if I can't understand anyone? plagued me. But I put aside my anxiety and boarded the plane for Zurich.
My host father picked me up at the train station and drove me to Erlenbach, a beautiful mountain village. On my application I had not specified whether I wanted to live in the country, a city or suburb, but I like the outdoors. Arriving in Erlenbach, I knew I couldn't have asked for a better setting. There was one store, a bakery, a church and something most Swiss towns require: a train station.

Corporate Culture Deutsch State-of-the-art methodology, a spirit of technical excellence and a general listening attitude offer ELCA's employees a permanent opportunity to reach ever higher levels of competence.
    Satisfied Customers
A long list of satisfied customers attests to our continued success over more than 30 years of existence. We will usually carry out several projects for our customers, over several years, building a trusting and partnership-oriented relationship, which is the most concrete proof of their satisfaction with our services. Improve your Training
ELCA' s Training Program is based on three pillars: personal development, corporate skills and culture, and technical know-how. A Training Committee is responsible for identifying new areas of interest, selecting the best teachers, and organizing formal training sessions. In addition, regular in-house seminars are held on specific experience gained during projects: this allows everybody at ELCA to benefit from the latest technological developments. In IT, systems become out of date and architectures change very rapidly. We maintain our employee's value by continual refresher training to return to previous levels of productivity, and we also encourage changes of direction during an employee's career, when such changes seem beneficial to the person's professional evolution.
