There are many names for alcohol but the most common street names are Alcohol, Booze, and Tot. There are also many effects of alcohol there are short-term effects with various effects like. Moderate doses produce relaxation, increased self-confidence and sociability. Higher doses produce impaired judgment, loss of co-ordination, reduced feelings of pain and possibly mood swings and violence. Long term effects can case dependency, emotional depression, damage to brain, stomach, liver, lungs, heart, etc. Other risk includes drinking and driving, overdose, vomiting, unwanted sex and violence.
Here is some harm reduction information you should take into use while you drink, try to stick to recommended limits. Do not mix with other drugs this can be dangerous. Eat something before or while you are drinking, drink slowly. Know the strength of what you are drinking. Stop drinking when you know that you have had enough, try to have one or two alcohol free days every week. Drink for pleasure not to escape problems.

Drug Addiction:
An Inside View
By Megan Lum, Teen Correspondent You've seen them - glassy eyes in sunken eye sockets, pale skin hanging off their bones. If you haven't already guessed, I'm talking about junkies. They messed up at some point in their lives by "experimenting" and got addicted. Now they want you to try some, too. See how it helped us? See how much better we are now? Come one, one hit won't hurt. One smoke won't get you hooked. One little dose won't kill you.
Every single drug out there is addictive.
That's the biggest load of crap I've ever heard.
Drugs kill. You hear about it almost every day. Heroin overdoses, pot laced with some deadly meth, LSD overdoses causing people to think they are invincible, people dropping acid and then veering off the road because "snakes" were attacking them. You still think drugs seem like the way to go? Expert's Comments on
Substance Abuse Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug in the U.S. Studies have shown that the number of teenagers who have reported using marijuana nearly doubled from 1991 to 1997. By 1997, 50% of high school seniors reported having used marijuana and 88% reported that marijuana was either "fairly easy" or "very easy" to obtain.

When we started this web site, I had in mind the purpose of reaching families who didn't know where to turn or wanted information and direction but weren't sure of the extent of their teen's "use". My hope is to reach those families who suffer from teen drug abuse and lead them to help.
In the 80's and 90's many teens were placed in treatment due to misdiagnoses and lack of competent intake procedures. I don't think every child is addicted. Some are and some are abusing due to stress or loss/grief. Treatment will be different for each of these two categories. I think that it is important to find out the extent of his or her "use" from a professional who has specialized in addiction and then decide on a course of action based on the diagnosis. This involves having the strength and good sense to find out.

What do we mean by LIFE / Teen Challenge prevention of addiction? Again and again we hear teachers and parents say: “The topic of prevention of addiction does not actually concern me because I am only working with children." Such statements are far away from the truth and they prove that there exists a tremendous need for information. It is of vital importance that first the parents through their influence and in later years the educators in the kindergarten as well as the teachers in school lay a stable foundation for an effective prevention of addiction! And that is why we offer a training course in prevention of addiction in the following areas:
  • parents of infants, kindergarten and elementary children
  • educators in kindergarten
  • teachers of classes 1 - 9
  • elementary children between the age 10 to 15 (4th to 9th class)
  • children and youth groups
  • confirmation groups
  • public events
We also give lectures to the topic of prevention of addiction in high schools and older age groups. Though it is a fact that children of older age groups have already developed their own personal opinions and do rely on their own experiences and that’s why a prevention seminar is not as effective any more as in younger years. Here one often has to deal with aspects of therapy already.

Answers:

Wow! Many, many people have this problem. Most don't admit it. I'm glad you realize you have a problem. That means your serious about wanting to change. My best advice to you would be not to try and do it all at once. Maybe start by cutting down 15 minutes. Then a half hour. Then an hour...etc. Think of other things you REALLY enjoy doing, and do them instead. :) Good luck!!! Jillian Manuela

Answers
I understand your pains, brother. Why do you live your life? Is it to serve some higher purpose? I hope that it is something beyond just working. If so, then think of how your dedication to pornography gets in the way of fulfilling your purpose... The time and resources it steels away from your purpose, your ultimate goal. You need the discipline to withhold your urge to view this stuff. The definition I like most about discipline is, "Delayed gratification" as apposed to "immediate gratification". When you view porn, then you recieve an immedaite gratification of your "needs". However, this is often short term and at great cost I'm sure that you already realize this. However, if you lay aside your desire to have immedaite gratification, and hold out putting all of your efforts to achive your purpose, then the reward in the end will be much greater and without negitive consequence... Whenever you find yourself wantering into a porn site, then just think about how this activity prevents you from achieving your ultimate goal... Jason p.s. You can also install internet software which prevents people form accessing this type of material. However, it can be turned off, so you can use it more to prevent you from accidentially stumbing upon an adult website...
