On February 1, 2003, the space shuttle Columbia broke up during reentry over Texas. What happened and who were those 7 heroes who lost their lives? The Challenger Disaster Shuttle Challenger mission 51L was much like most other shuttle missions. The Space Shuttle program was begun in the 1970s, to create reusable craft for transporting cargo into space. The Challenger rolled off the assembly line as the second shuttle of the US fleet in 1982. It flew nine successful missions before that fateful day in 1986. A tragedy in NASA history. September 11 (9/11) Terrorist Attacks As Seen From Space The effects of terrorists crashing airplanes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon on September 11, 2001 were devastating to most people around the world. Japanese Calligraphy - History One can trace shodo ’s history to China, where the mater Wang Xizhi is credited with the creation of the art. Shodo was first introduced into Japan in the 8th century. The early Heian contemporaries Kuukai , Emperor Saga , and courtier Tachibana no Hayanari are respectfully known as the Sanpitsu (Three Great Brushes), and their calligraphy is considered a true representation of Chinese calligraphy’s timeless beauty.
