an online reservoir of parenting and education resources. Inspire Your Child to Greatness
Do you ever think your child could become the next Oprah Winfrey, Benjamin Carson, or Ruth Bader-Ginsburg? If you are raising a precocious, outgoing and curious child or teen who already has aspirations to greatness, encourage his or her ambitions. It's never too early for children to think about their futures. Please Read On... Do early childhood experiences really count? A new book, The Myth of the Early Years by Dr. John T. These resources will help give young people and adults the tools they need to prevent or respond to dangerous situations that confront too many of our children. So no matter if you're a student, a parent,an educator, a public safety professional or a concerned citizen — we hope you will find the time you spend here valuable. KIDsafe Virginia Indentification Kits - By partnering with automobile dealerships across the Commonwealth, free child DNA kits will be available to parents who will voluntarily gather their child's DNA for use in the event the child is missing. Parents will maintain custody of the DNA to help investigators if the need arises.

We are dedicated to providing high-quality lactation management training programs and innovative educational materials. We offer training programs for those desiring to become a certified lactation consultant and continuing education for those who are certified.
    Our History
Lactation Education Resources was formed as a continuation of a well-established program at Georgetown University Medical Center. In the winter of 1997, Georgetown University Medical Center dissolved the National Capital Lactation Center and the lactation management programs that had been developed there. This included the Lactation Consultant Training Program, Clinical Internship Program and advanced practice workshops as well as various educational materials. During her 15 year employment at Georgetown University Medical Center, Vergie Hughes RN MS IBCLC had developed the National Capital Lactation Center in 1986 and the Lactation Consultant Training Program in 1990. Under her direction, they both became well respected nationally and internationally.
