Meet Our Writers Home Auto Research Meet Our Writers Auto Previews ... Contact Us Car-Data writers represent the market diversity that exists today. We each see life through a different pair of glasses. The typical auto buyer doesn't have the luxury of personally evaluating each of the 300+ models on the market today. You have to rely on the experience of others who do. Car-Data has assembled a group of experienced auto journalists who represent the different tastes and lifestyles of the buying public. All share a passion for automobiles, but each expresses his or her own insightful point of view in his or her writing. Vehicle evaluations are: UNBIASED and DIVERSE Our writers express their personal views and are asked to be objective "...just the facts Ma'am..." rather than being overly subjective. After all, who cares what we like; what matters is what you like. We can, however, give you insight into the vehicles that we evaluate and point out the strengths and weaknesses of each. A new vehicle purchase is an intensely personal matter. Most often, we buy EMOTIONALLY and then justify LOGICALLY. We tend to buy the vehicle that we LIKE and then find a logical rationale to justify the purchase afterward. It gets good gas mileage, it has good resale value... whatever the reason, this site will provide additional information so that you can make a more INFORMED BUYING DECISION.

High-Speed HP CD-Writers Meet Rising Consumer Demand
Data Shows CD-RW Market Exploding
PALO ALTO, Calif., March 20 /PRNewswire/ Lower prices and the need for Web-based information are drawing more consumers to buy rewritable compact disc (CD) drives, resulting in an explosive market demand for high-performance drives. To meet this demand, Hewlett-Packard Company, the worldwide leader in CD-rewritable (CD-RW) and CD-recordable (CD-R) drives, introduces its highest-performance series, the HP CD-Writer Plus 9300i and 9310i drives. "With more than one billion CD players already installed in homes and businesses worldwide(1), trends for information sharing and storing have risen to the next level," said Christine Tappy, senior marketing manager, HP CD-RW products. "HP's CD-Writer Plus drives offer a simple solution for storing and sharing MP3 files, creating personal music CDs, creating family-photo and other digital-image projects, and storing valuable information." The HP CD-Writer Plus 9300i and 9310i drives offer a 10X write speed, a 4X rewrite speed and a 32X read speed. These speeds indicate the transfer rate at which information is recorded or read, as compared to real-time speed of 1X. The 9300i series drives connect internally to any IBM compatible, Pentium®-class 200MHz computer with an IDE cable connect. As an added value, HP offers an exclusive software collection with its drives. The 9300i drives include HP fast format, HP simple backup, Adaptec Direct CD and Easy CD Creator, Neato CD Labeler, and Corel Print Office or ACID software.

Meeting other writers on-line
Who hasn't felt the frustration and loneliness associated with writing? You show your loved ones and friends your work and either receive over-the-top praise - "that's really good, one day you'll be a famous author" or nitpicking - "you missed a comma there". Very rarely will you get comprehensive feedback on character development, description of scenes, dialogue, narrative, plot, style and so on. There are many benefits from talking to and writing to other writers. Apart from the good feeling of talking to someone who understands what you're on about, you get to share your writing and give and receive feedback. Often you can also help each other with such things as motivation, story ideas, research techniques, reference books, resources, courses and competitions. To meet other writers on-line, try the following links. I've included a few pen-pal links as well. Enjoy!

Festival History
List of Writers Michael Kusugak Inuit writer Michael Kusugak learned the art of storytelling from his grandmother, who helped him pass the winter hours in Repulse Bay, a small village in the Northwest Territories. With a piece of string transformed into a whale, a dog or a seagull, she “illustrated” the tales she told him. His first book for children, A Promise is a Promise (1988), is based on one of his own early childhood memories. Subsequent works include Baseball Bats for Christmas Hide and Sneak Northern Lights: The Soccer Trails My Arctic 1,2,3 Arctic Stories (1998), and Who Wants Rocks? Kusugak now lives in Rankin Inlet, and entertains educators and young audiences in schools and libraries with his stories and his piece of string. In 1997, his work was featured on stage at Young People’s Theatre in Toronto in a double-bill, Michael Kusugak’s Stories of the Inuit and A Promise is a Promise Top of page Festival Events Special Events Guest Info ... http://www.thelogbook.com/features/

The Writers
theLogBook.com consists of almost two thousand pages written over the past decade, and while that seems like plenty of time for one person to have come up with a thousand pages, it just doesn't work that way. Other writers have been involved in the LogBook since the days when it briefly transformed into a printed fanzine (1994-95), and some writers have even taken over entire episode guides. Movie and music reviews, editorials, and other items have all been contributed by this small stable of fans who, like myself, take this stuff seriously...but still have a life. At long last, meet the LogBook writing staff! Jeremy Benner

I have been a fan of Doctor Who for 20 years, and being from Canada, was virtually raised on British television. I still think that Benny Hill was the greatest comedian that ever lived. I have just recently finished completing my Doctor Who book collection (thanks Earl!) and am now in the process of reading the ones I have left - about 130 of them...in my spare time, I have taken up the fun, yet daunting task of completing the Doctor Who LogBook, using my patented, never before seen, "out of ten" rating system.
My non-spare time consists of my actual "real job," which is servicing lawn sprinkler systems. Luckily, this job is easy, and seasonal, and it leaves me enough time to cheer on the Vancouver Canucks, and take my semiannual trips to Reno.
