J ean Donovan Sanborn, Director I'm back for my 19th year in the Farnham Writers' Center, my favorite place on campus. I'm always ready to talk writing or Ireland or weaving or writing or Ireland or tennis or maybe even Ireland! M ike Bates '01, Assistant Director I'm back for my 5th year at the Writers' Center. Last year marked my first triumphant year as assistant director. After destroying my rivals for the coveted position, I ruled with an iron fist. My battles with the Paper Clip Bandit, my arch nemesis, are legendary, and have prepared me for another fun year of tutoring. A nna Capezzera '03 J eanine Duffy '03 Jeanine is an English and Spanish major who plans on a career in filmmaking. Her first big star acting role was "Big and Cool" girl on the local Waterville Sign of the Sun commercial. When Jeanine's not writing or tutoring, you can find her watching Spanish soap operas while wearing a constricting but revealing Tigger suit. K ate Fletcher '03 I'm a senior English major with a concentration in Creative Writing. When I graduate, I plan on running away with a travelling circus to participate in the knife-throwing act. But perhaps, if I'm super lucky, I will meet a mouse who will show me how to use my freakish powers to fly. Then I'll show THAT cirucs. Yeah.

- Bree Jones, Writer ~ I was saved on New Year's Eve, 2000 at Winter X-treme in Gatlinburg, TN. I'm 14 and I love music and singing, being in drama at church, doing sign language with a group at church. I like writing short stories mostly, and poetry. I love to praise God! E-mail Bree
- Adina, Writer ~ I was in a car, and I heard the song "Thank You" by Ray Boltz, and it talked about this man in heaven and people started walking up to him and thanking him for little things he had done. I listened carefully and I really wasn't sure if I was going to heaven or was ever going to be blessed in heaven like that. I knew I had to make a change. So, then I asked Jesus to come into my heart when I was 6 years old.
- Sara Summers, Writer ~ I have grown up in a Christian home and my parents led me to Jesus when I was about 3 years old, but my family wasn't involved in a church and I pretty much drifted away from God later on. Several years later, my family started coming to church again, and when I started coming to youth group I recommitted my life to God. I am now very involved in my church and youth group.A few of my other likes are drawing, writing, listening to Christian music, and computers.

February 21, 2002 Office of University Communications home page OUT AND ABOUT Writers, no two alike, meet and read BY LIBBY ROSOF It was 5:05 p.m., 10 minutes before the February meeting of the Penn and Pencil Club, a group of staff members who joined together to lend one another support and feedback on their ways with words. The others trickled in. First came poet and short story writer Pat Green from the Veterinary School, one of the original members from 1997. Then poet Heather Carson, a newcomer from Human Resources, arrived, toting a worn marble composition book. Dilys Winegrad sat down next to him, and lastly, in came group leader John Shea. Winegrad, director/curator for the Arthur Ross Gallery, writes fiction, and Shea, who edits three publications for the Health System, writes all kinds of stuff.
Ways to write
Then McGhie, who mentioned that he writes old-fashioned poetry that rhymes and scans, said his method was to start thinking in the shower and scribble it down on I-95 on the way to work.

The Banias chips will also be support VeriSign's separate Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security. "The Centrino brand marks the first time Intel has branded a combination of technologies under one name," Intel claimed in a statement. In October 2002, Intel announced a $US150 million ($260 million) fund to for wireless developers with the hope of kick staring interest in the new architecture and begin application development.

Writer's Groups
If you are looking for a group in your area and don't find one here, the two best places to ask are your local library and the closest college or university English department (or whatever language is appropriate). If you e-mail me asking about a group in an area I don't have listed, all I can do is ask you to check with the library and colleges in your area. I list all groups I know of. This page lists writers groups that meet face-to-face, by their location, anywhere in the world. Listings are free, as a service to the writers. If you have information about a group, please let me know their meeting location, time, any membership fees and area of interest. E-mail to Callie@writepage.com
(Note: Listing here isn't suitable for critique groups seeking to fill an empty space ... post a note in a library, bookstore, and local college for that.)
The Known Groups
The listing became too long and hard to read - pick your area and jump to the listings for that area. They aren't alphabetized, and those aren't my typing errors.
