Qualificada em setembro de 1999, realiza pesquisa comparada sobre Cervantes e Machado de Assis. Resumo Neste trabalho busca-se mostrar a importância da fusão de dois temas clássicos da literatura, o "conto dos dois amigos" e a curiosidade impertinente, na trama da novela cervantina El Curioso Impertinente , já essa fusão reflete-se no tratamento dado às relações humanas, um dos eixos condutores do texto. Resumen: Este trabajo busca mostrar el influjo que tiene la fusión de dos temas clásicos de la literatura, el "cuento de los dos amigos" y la curiosidad impertinente, en la trama de la novela cervantina El Curioso Impertinente , una vez que tal fusión reflejase en el tratamiento que se dá en el texto a las relaciones humanas, uno de los ejes conductores del texto.

    ARIOSTO, LODOVICO (1474—1533) Italian poet, was born at h~ eggio, in Lombardy, on the 8th of September 1474. His father gi is Niccolo Ariosto, commander of the citadel of Reggio. He p owed a strong inclination to poetry from his earliest years, ei it was obliged by his father to study the law—a pursuit in hi hich he lost five of the best years of his life. Allowed at last to hi an iich serves to show the incorrectness of the assertion of str tterers, followed by Tiraboschi, that the duke of Ferrara built a it house for him. The only one who seems to have given irn ything to Ariosto as a reward for his poetical talent was the th ~rquess del Vasto, who assigned him an annuity of 100 crowns to the revenues of Casteleone in Lombardy; but it was only wi id, if ever, from the end of 1531. That he was crowned as poet is Charles V. seems untrue, although a diploma may have been col ued to that effect by the emperor.     nacque a Reggio Emilia, il padre lo indirizzò a studi giuridici e lo introdusse nella corte degli Estensi. Morto il padre e data la situazione economica della famiglia non certo florida, per Ariosto la carriera di corte diventa una necessità. Il servizio presso il cardinale Ippolito d'Este e poi presso Alfonso d'Este, che lo costringono a continui spostamenti, è per lui difficile e non congeniale (il mondo della corte viene lucidamente descritto nelle sue Satire ); il suo periodo più sereno coincise con il servizio a Ferrara, che gli permise di organizzare spettacoli teatrali di corte. L'armonia che presiede al suo capolavoro, Orlando Furioso, appare come l'esito di un continuo controllo morale e artistico di una materia che non è solo evasione fantastica, ma è in primo luogo espressione della sua concezione del mondo pessimistica, scettica e profondamente laica, e inoltre sintesi delle sue esperienze.
