Milton H. Clements, old time freighter who lost his legs in the 1875 blizzard, isburied here. SOURCE Barber County Kansas Chosen Land; pgs. 28 - 29.

BARBER COUNTY CEMETERIES
Nine urban cemeteries, three still-maintained country cemeteries, and at least fifteen additional burial sites are located within Barber County boundaries.
  • AETNA CEMETERY is in NENW 16-34-15, Z-Bary Cattle Company, land-owner.
  • BENDER or CHINN CEMETERY E 1/2 SE 2-30-15, five miles northof Sun City, Helen Weede, land owner, has seven marked graves of the Bender and Chinn families.
  • DOLES CEMETERY is six miles west of Medicine Lodge in 6-32-12 and 1-32-13 on Glenn Vanderwork land. First burial in this cemetery was 1876.
  • ELDRED CEMETERY is in SWSE 29-34-13, W.J. Ring, land-owner.
  • FORREST CITY CEMETERY (aka Garten or Martin Cemetery) is eight miles west of Medicine Lodge, NW 1/4 27-31-13, Charles W. Smith, land-owner. There are eight graves.
  • HARDTNER CEMETERY at Hardtner is in the E1/2SW1/4 5-35-12. The first land was given in 1912 by Mr. and Mrs. Ira Blackstock; she was the daughter of Dr. Hardtner. Four additions have been made. Mrs. Thomas (Adeline) Weller was the first burial May 1912. From 1912 - 1920, the cemetery was just a fenced piece of pasture land. In 1920, nineteen people met and organized Hardtner Cemetery Association. Each paid an assessment of $1.00. Officers elected were Charles Hickle, president; Mrs. Lee Butcher, secretary; Mrs. Bessie Allen, treasurer. Labor to clean and mow and set out trees was donated.
  • HAZELTON/ROSE HILL CEMETERY Hazelton Cemetery at Hazelton was organized near the same time the city of Hazelton was platted, about 1884. It is located NENE 15-34-10, was originally organized by Hazelton and Cedar Townships, and was tax supported. Blaine Township in Harper County was later brought into the association. This cemetery, known also as Rose Hill Cemetery, has the distinction of being laid out in the form of a wagon wheel; the spokes are formed by drives leading to the center or hub of the wheel. Burials within this pattern are adjusted to the angles of the wheel; those outside the wheel are in the traditional east-west pattern. About 1835-36, a dozen or more graves were moved from the Corwin Cemetery, located northeast of Corwin on the Leo Otis Shroyer farm, into Hazelton Cemetery. Old stones indicate burials were first made in Hazelton Cemetery in 1884.

MOUNTAIN REST CEMETERY SECTION # 9
    Kings Mountain, Cleveland County, NC
By W. D. Floyd Mountain Rest Cemetery is located in the city of Kings Mountain, NC. It is kind of situated on the south of US-74 Business and west of NC-161. It is about a block off of each. The main entrance is off US-74 Business and there is a sign at the intersection. When you come in through the main entrance turn right at the first drive on the right and Section # 9 will be the first section on the left. There is another drive intersecting this one just after you do the right turn. Section # 9 is just past this drive on your left. I was there May 11, 2001 and I started the audit in the northeast corner of the section.
