HISTORIA NAVEGACION CAMOES Luis de Camões (Lisboa 1524-id 1580): Era hijo de Simao Vaz de Camões y de Ana de Sá e Macedo. Escasean las noticias sobre su infancia; posiblemente transcurrió en Coimbra, donde el poeta llevó a cabo sus primeros estudios. Se ignora si asistió a la universidad, trasladada en 1537 de Lisboa a Coimbra. En 1542, Camões partió para Lisboa cabo de Buena Esperanza . Los modelos de esta obra maestra van desde Virgilio a Tasso, pero su verdadera originalidad reside en la profunda vitalidad que su autor, también guerrero y navegante, logra infundirle. La mitología y el viaje de Vasco de Gama: OS LUSÍADAS de Camões, relato de viaje y poema épico. En 1498-99, enviado por el rey D. Manuel el Afortunado , el marino Vasco de Gama encontró el camino de la India atravesando el Atlántico y el Índico. La crónica de este viaje con sus diversas incidencias suministró al poeta Luis Camões materia para un grandioso poema épico, el más famoso de toda la literatura moderna, en el cual la gesta marinera y la vocación portuguesa quedan mitificadas a un nivel sobrehumano. El poema puede, naturalmente, estudiarse desde múltiples ángulos, pero aquí nos limitaremos a la influencia de la épica grecolatina; que se advierte en la repetida comparación de la empresa portuguesa, por su trascendencia histórica y las enormes dificultades superadas, con las de Hércules Jasón Ulises y Eneas ; y en la fidelidad con que sigue la Odisea y la Eneida en la maquinaria mitológica, la ordenación de la materia y los principales incidentes en que se mantiene la ficción de que algunos dioses antiguos siguen vivos y capaces de actuar, y otros al menos en el recuerdo. Dry land circles the bay.» Luís (Vaz) de Camões (1524 - 1580) was Portugal's great national poet, author of the epic poem Os Lusíadas (1572), which describes Vasco da Gama's discovery of the sea route to India. Camões had a permanent and unparalleled impact on Portuguese and Brazilian literature alike, due not only to his epic but also to his posthumously published lyric poetry. Camões was born in Lisbon, when Portuguese expansion in the East was at its peak. He was a member of the impoverished old aristocracy but well-related to the grandees of Portugal and Spain. Camões has probably studied at the University of Coimbra or has followed any regular studies. Few other European poets of that time achieved such a vast knowledge of both classical and contemporary culture and philosophy.

AU TERME DE LA VISITE OFFICIELLE DU PRESIDENT DE LA REPUBLIQUE AU PORTUGAL Omar Bongo rentre à Libreville fort d'un succès politique et diplomatique Le sommet gabono-portugais de Lisbonne, où le président e la république, M. Omar Bongo, a effectué une visite officielle du dimanch e 16 au mercredi 19 décembre, ouvre la voie à une coopération globale entre le Portugal et le Gabon. Le niveau des entretiens, avec le président Jorge Sampaio et le Premier ministre Antonio Guterres et les thèmes abordés (coopération bilatérale et régionale) traduisent le "grand intérêt" de cette visite. LE rideau est tombé mercredi 19 décembre sur le sommet gabono-portugais de Lisbonne, où le président de la République Omar Bongo, effectuait depuis dimanche 16 une visite officielle d'Etat au Portugal. A son arrivée hier dimanche 23 décembre, après s'être rendu sur le chemin du retour en visite privée de trois jours à Las Palmas, dans les Iles Canaries, il a été accueilli à sa descente d'avion par le Premier ministre, chef du gouvernement, Jean-François Ntoutoume Emane. Au salon d'honneur de l'aéroport international Léon Mba, où il été salué par les membres du gouvernement le président Omar Bongo a volontiers répondu aux questions de la presse nationale et internationale. Il a naturellement évoqué la qualité des entretiens qu'il a eus avec les autorités portugaises. En effet, cette visite du numéro un gabonais au Portugal a connu un réel succès.
