1. Biografía De Lewis Carroll

http://www.expreso.co.cr/alicia/carroll.htm

Dreaming in Pictures: The Photography of Lewis Carroll

    by Douglas R. Nickel
Price: $27.97 Hardcover: 168 pages ; Dimensions (in inches): 0.85 x 11.32 x 9.82 (August 1, 2002) Lewis Carroll was the pen name of the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, the author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and other beloved children's books. But before achieving fame as an author, Carroll was a prolific and sophisticated photographer, acutely engaged in the art world of Victorian England. This beautifully illustrated book is the first to examine Carroll's photographs not as the sideline of a celebrated writer, but as the creations of a serious photographic artist ... Carroll's photography and revisionist assessment of Carroll's character. Carroll's Victorian circle saw more than met the eye in his pictures, ....... Besides reading the pictures incorrectly, modern eyes misconstrue Carroll's personality. Carroll was fond of little girls, but the photos and his diaries demonstrate equal liking, equally nonsexual, for boys and other adults.

Still She Haunts Me: A Novel

    by Katie Roiphe
Price: $16.77 Look inside 10 Sample Pages. Hardcover: 228 pages ; Dimensions (in inches): 0.86 x 8.60 x 5.83 (September 4, 2001) Reviewer from Port Washington, NY : Stars in a Box, January 13, 2002 'Still She Haunts Me' is one of the most beautiful books that I have read in the past year. Fiction or non-fiction, it doesn't really matter. What is written on these pages is not a minute by minute account of Charles Dodgson's life, but instead, a clever telling of the story of Alice Liddell and 'Lewis Carroll' and of what befalls the pair....... Katie Roiphe makes you feel as though Dodgson is a person that you could know. He's the shy professor at your college or the witty man that you see at the library. This book is a must-read for all Carroll fans. Reviewer from Austin, Texas USA :

"One can't believe impossible things."/ "I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Alice came to a fork in the road. 'Which road do I take?' she asked. 'Where do you want to go?', responded the Cheshire cat. 'I don't know.' Alice answered. 'Then,' said the cat, 'it doesn't matter. Now here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that! "I'm very brave generally," he went on in a low voice: "only today I happen to have a headache."
