Caesar, Julius Gaius (100-44 B.C.)
"You too, Brutus?"

Most people know that the Latin translation of "You too, Brutus?" is " Et tu, Brute? " and many will recall that in Shakespeare's play, the bard adds a final English sentence to these Latin words, "Then fall, Caesar!" However, some have suggested that the famous phrase was probably spokenif it was spoken at allin the Greek that was commonly used by Roman officials. The Greek version of Caesar's last words is " Kai su, teknon? " or "You too, my son?"
Calhoun, John C. (1782-1850)
"The South! The poor South! God knows what will become of her."

John C. Calhoun, an American politician, was the strongest proponent of Southern rights during the first half of the 19th Century. Calhoun secretly authored the South Carolina Exposition and Protest, a document that asserted that any state had the power to nullify any federal law that it deemed unconstitutional. While serving as Andrew Jackson's Vice-President, Calhoun became extremely frustrated after the President refused to endorse an extreme state rights position. Calhoun eventually resigned when Jackson discovered that he had attempted to undermine several policy initiatives and played a major role in ostracizing the Secretary of War's wife from Washington society. Calhoun returned to South Carolina and was elected to the Senate where he served as the most powerful spokesman for slavery until his death in 1850.

CHESTERFIELD MSS.
The Chesterfield mss., 1740-1777, are letters and papers of Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th earl of Chesterfield, 1694- 1773, statesman, and his godson, Philip Stanhope, 5th earl of Chesterfield, 1755-1815, master of the horse. They are bound in three volumes. In the first two volumes are letters to the godson who was very young when the first messages were addressed to him. They contain excellent advice and were written when Chesterfield was no longer active in politics, and infirmities prevented him from participating in the society he loved best. He endeavored to give his godson the training which would make him a courtly, accomplished man of the world. Sixteen of the letters were dictated, but all were signed or initialed by Chesterfield. The amanuensis was James Walsh, Chesterfield's valet de chambre. In six letters, Aug. 20, Sept. 3, Oct. 13, Nov. 20, 1772, Feb. 19, and Mar. 7, 1773, on the second or third page is a postscript signed by Walsh, in the same handwriting as the dictated letters. A seventh letter by Walsh, Dec. 22, 1772, is on a separate sheet of paper. There is also "An Account of the journey from Bretby to London, November the 8th, 1708," by an unidentified person.

How do you find a good attorney?
(... or, What came first, the needle or the haystack?) By: By James Ellis Arden Many people don't worry about seeking legal advice until it becomes necessary or even crucial to find a lawyer suiting your needs Why may not that be the skull of a lawyer? William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616) Unless you already use or have a lawyer on retainer, it may be hard to understand when and why you will benefit by getting legal advice . But knowing when to seek counsel is the key to saving money: you will often spend less paying a lawyer to avoid problems than you will by paying to solve them.
This doesn't mean every situation requires the advice of an attorney - they don't! But many people, businesses, entertainers, professionals, and others, do not make important decisions or moves without the review of an attorney.
For example, if you want to buy a house (and you have never bought one), you might have a

In 1553 Chester first returned two members to parliament, having hitherto been. represented solely in the parliament •f the palatinate. By the Redistribution Act of 1885 the representation was reduced to one member. The trades of tanners, skinners and glove-makers existed at the time of the Conquest, and the importation of marten. skins is mentioned in Domesday. In the I4th century the woollen trade was considerable, and in 1674 weavers and wool-combers were introduced into Chester from Norwich. The restoration of the channel of the Dee opened up a flourishing trade in Irish linen, which in 1786 was at its height, but from that date gradually diminished.
