27th of 7th month - Cerveth, late evening.
Kharox After Wog and Merryho left them, the travellers moved by the road south. During the trip they had a short rest for a lunch. All the way to Kharox they were moving very carefull – Elsten was scouting ahead, Tusca was moving in the areguard. But there was noone seen across the road. At the evening the hills, they were passing, became larger and larger and soon they reached the feet of Taur-en-Farof. The forest was cut few hundred yards around the village and they were noticed early before knocking at the gate. The village of Kharox was built by the large rock. The stone wall of two human heights was securing the village from the north in a rough half-circle of about 500 yards in diameter. The ends of the wall were connected to the rock to the south. The wall had a single gate with a crossbowman guard. The area surrounding the wall was well planted – a number of well kept apple trees, peaches, vegetable rows.
The guard – the red-bearded dwarf in a horned helmet, wearing a scalemail, aimed his heavy crossbow at them and demanded from the travellers to name themselves. The adventurers, indeed, introduced themselves. The dwarf watched the elf and the half-elf suspiciously for a moment, but then put aside the crossbow and announced – “Ok, you all may pass. Steelpick told me you are coming. The bard and his friends are kindly welcome to the party tonight. You still have some time to hang around. Our Jarl will send someone when it’s time.” The dwarf turned on a mechanism, that opened heavy gate, and let them in, closing the gate again.
