William Jefferson Clinton was born William Jefferson Blythe IV on August 19, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas, named for his father who had died three months prior to his birth in a traffic accident. His mother was Virginia Cassidy. When he was four years old his mother wed Roger Clinton of Hot Springs, Arkansas. At the age of 15, he legally changed his name to Clinton. Excelling as a student he attended Georgetown University, the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and Yale University Law School. Returning to Arkansas he taught law at the University of Arkansas. In 1977, he married Hillary Rodham whom he had met while attending Yale University. Their daughter Chelsea was born in 1980. Clinton had shown an early interest in politics and his mother engaged him in political discussions, encouraging his ambitions. He became motivated to a life of public service after having met President John F. Kennedy in the Rose Garden of the White House while in high school. His political aspirations became precarious with his opposition to the Vietnam War. In his first foray into the political arena in 1974 he lost a bid to unseat the incumbent four-term Republican Congressman from Arkansas in a very close race. Clinton was elected state attorney general in 1976.

Zachariah Jr. was among about six Cassady families who migrated to Henry County during the early 1830s. They chose to settle in the Lawrenceville community. By 1860, some of these relatives moved westward into Coffee and Dale counties. Within a few years, during the late 1860s, some of them crossed over into Covington County. During the 1870 census, there were at least five Cassady families living in Covington County: John Calvin, George Washington, Zachariah Jr., Daniel J. and Alexander. John and George were the sons of Levi. Zachariah Jr. was their uncle, and he was the father of Daniel J. and Alexander. It is believed that Zachariah Jr. was married three times. Among his children were: Alexander, b. ca 1830, m. Wineford L.; Daniel J., b. ca 1845, m. Mary?; David; and a daughter, b. 1874. WILLIAM J.
CLINTON
During the administration of William Jefferson Clinton, the nation enjoyed more peace and economic well being than ever before. He could point to the lowest unemployment and inflation in modern times, reduced welfare roles and dropping crime rates in many places, and the highest home ownership in the country's history.
President Clinton proposed the first balanced budget in decades and achieved a budget surplus. He called for a great national initiative to end racial discrimination and sought legislation to upgrade education, protect jobs of parents who must care for sick children, restrict handgun sales and strengthen environmental rules. In the world, he dispatched peace keeping forces to war-torn Bosnia and bombed Iraq when Saddam Hussein stopped United Nations inspections for evidence of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. He was the first Democratic president since Franklin D. Roosevelt to win a second term.
In 1998, as a result of issues surrounding personal indiscretions with a young woman White House intern, Clinton was the second U.S. president to be impeached by the House of Representatives. He was tried in the Senate and found not guilty of the charges brought against him. He apologized to the nation for his actions and continued to have unprecedented popular approval ratings for his job as president.

Bill (William Jefferson) Clinton
Former President of the United States of America
Born August 19, 1946, Hope, Arkansas

Bill Clinton was born on Monday. Monday was named to honor the moon. "Monday's child is fair of face..."
Bill Clinton's birthstone is peridot, a green-gold gem believed to dispel melancholy and show paths to wisdom. It has decorated altars, and Egyptians wore it in ear pendants.
Bill Clinton was born under the sign of Leo, the Lion. The Lion can handle a position of authority. Lions have forceful personalities and command respect. They are noble, generous, enthusiastic, and temperamental. Leos believe in sticking to their principles, and are not usually interested in compromise. They have an admirable fondness of children. Famous Leos include Napoleon, Alfred Hitchcock, and Andy Warhol.
In New York, the United Nations Security Council admits Iceland, Afghanistan, and Sweden to the United Nations. A Biography of William Jefferson Clinton (1946 - )
Octobre 2001 : Bill Clinton radié du barreau

Mars 2002 : L'affaire Monica Lewinsky définitivement close Bill Clinton was born William Jefferson Blythe IV on August 19, 1946, in Hope, Arkansas. His father, an automobile-parts salesman, died in a car accident three months before Bill was born. His mother, Virginia Cassidy, married Roger Clinton, an automobile dealer, when Bill was seven years old. The family moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where Bill and his younger half brother, Roger, Jr., attended public schools. His mother often engaged Bill in political discussions and encouraged his ambitions. Growing up had its difficulties, however, because his stepfather was an alcoholic who sometimes beat his mother. Virginia and Roger eventually divorced but soon remarried, when Bill was 15. As a gesture Bill had his last name legally changed to Clinton. Bill participated in many activities, including student government, at Hot Springs High School. In the summer of 1963 he was chosen to attend the American Legion Boys State, a government and leadership conference, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was elected a senator and given the opportunity to go to Washington, D.C. where he shook hands with President John F. Kennedy. When Bill returned to Arkansas, politics became a pursuit from which he never wavered. After high school, Clinton went to Georgetown University. While pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies he worked for Democratic Senator William Fulbright of Arkansas, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who became an outspoken opponent of the Vietnam War. Clinton's own opposition to the war grew as he attended hearings and clipped newspapers.
