Spiritwalk Library Project Gutenberg http://www.gutenberg.net Project Gutenberg is the Internet's oldest producer of FREE electronic books (eBooks or eTexts). It intends to put as many books on-line as possible and to gather these on line works into one central location. It is a terrific service of the University of Illinois.
Project Gutenberg is the brainchild of Michael Hart, who in 1971 decided that it would be a really good idea if lots of famous and important texts were freely available to everyone in the world. Since then, he has been joined by hundreds of volunteers who share his vision. Now, more than thirty years later, Project Gutenberg has the following figures (as of November 8th 2002): 203 New eBooks released during October 2002, 1975 New eBooks produced in 2002 (they were 1240 in 2001) for a total of 6267 Total Project Gutenberg eBooks. 119 eBooks have been posted so far by Project Gutenberg of Australia

Persons or organizations desiring to use the information contained within in my web pages MUST obtain my written consent. All information is for Non-Profit use only. This cemetery has regular care and is in good shape. The cemetery is located within one mile, to the east, of the town on Randolph, Minnesota and boarders the northwest shore of Lake Byllesby. In the book "History of Dakota County and the city of Hastings" by Rev. Edward D. Neill, written in 1881, he wrote the following about Randolph: 'The cemetery is the property of the town, and is under the control of the town board. It is situated in the north-east quarter of section 8, and the north-west quarter of section 9, and contains about three acres. The land was donated by D.H. Morrill and J.W. Pennimann. The first internment made in this ground, was that of a Miss Reinhardt, of Hampton; the second was Mrs. James Hassan, who died in December 1857, which was the first death within the limits of this town. This cemetery was for a time enclosed within the farm of Mr. Pennimann. In 1877, it was enclosed by a wire fence, and in 1879, was surrounded by shade trees. It contains about thirty graves (page 449).' This cemetery was transcribed in 1996.

Mount Pleasant Cemetery city of Chaska, Carver County, Minnesota: T115N - R23W, section 5 I claim and reserve any and all rights to the works that I have compiled and created. These pages may be viewed much like a library book, but I do not approve of any type of reproduction in any format. Persons or organizations desiring to use the information contained within in my web pages MUST obtain my written consent. All information is for Non-Profit use only. This cemetery is maintained on a regular basis and is in fair shape. This cemetery is located within the city of Chaska, just north of the current highway 212 and along highway 41 (or Chestnut Street). The cemetery grounds are very old and the sod / grass has become very soft and thick. There were several ‘newer’ burial monuments that had sunken into the sod / grass and were barely visible. In the 1915 "Compendium of History and Biography of Carver and Hennepin Counties, Minnesota", edited by Maj. R.I. Holcombe and William H. Bingham, they wrote: ‘... Mount Pleasant Cemetery was acquired by the cemetery association of that name and surveyed by Lucien Warner in 1865.’ In "Chaska - A Minnesota River City, Volume I, The 1800’s", by the Chaska Bicentennial Committee, they wrote: ‘ ... The site of Mount Pleasant cemetery was apparently a local burial spot before the cemetery association was formed. While that is not certain, the area was referred to as "the old burying ground" which makes that implication. The cemetery association was formed in the spring of 1863. ... In December of the same year additional land was purchased for the cemetery. As a result, it then extended to the Chaska and Smithtown Road. A later 1865 survey indicated its area was nearly four acres. Within the first year the lots had been laid out, staked and were available for sale. A "new pine board fence" also enclosed its boundaries.’ (page 119-120)

Fauna Mihalko Collection
Fauna Mihalko, former genealogy librarian at the Madison Jefferson County Public Library, collected many useful and interesting records over the years. These files were donated to the Jefferson County Historical Society . Records were organized into two categories, Jefferson County Genealogy and Jefferson County Subjects. The following is an index to the genealogy files only, of which I have cross-referenced the file titles. There are many more names within the individual files which are not indexed here. Some title names are of the person submitting the information. Individual genealogy files contain various contents. Some files are correspondence between Fauna and family genealogists, other files contain newspaper articles on individuals and / or families; and still other files are quite extensive -as are the Ryker and Lee files. I wish to thank Fauna Mihalko and her family, as well as the Jefferson County Historical Society for preserving this body of work for future genealogists.
