Henry Drummond's Spirit of Darkness
WHO WAS HENRY DRUMMOND?....Born in Scotland in 1851, he was a man of varied talents. Perhaps best remembered as A GIFTED EVANGELIST WHO ASSISTED DWIGHT L. MOODY DURING HIS REVIVAL CAMPAIGNS, he was also a lecturer in natural science.
Doctor, heal thyself.
Will the Real Henry Drummond Please Stand Up?
Now, there's a real surprise.
Excerpts from Drummond's The New Evangelism: Relation to Cardinal Doctrines [or, the W.C. Fields School of Theology]
IT is no small heroism in these times to deal with anything new. But this is a theological society; and I do not need to ask the protection of that name while I move for a little among lines of thought which may seem to verge on danger. One does not need to apologize for any inquiry made in A FORMATIVE SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY SUCH AS THIS; for in this atmosphere a seeker after truth is compelled to take up another than that provincial standpoint which elsewhere he is committed to.
The question you will naturally ask at the outset is, WHAT IS THE NEW EVANGELISM? NOW THAT IS A QUESTION THAT I CANNOT ANSWER. I do not know what the new Evangelism is, and it is because I do not know that I write this paper. I write because I ought to know, and am trying to know. MANY HERE, AND ALL THE MOST EARNEST MINDS OF OUR CHURCH, ARE ANXIOUSLY ASKING THIS QUESTION, AND EACH WHO HAS ONCE ASKED IT FEELS IT TO BE ONE OF THE CHIEF OBJECTS OF HIS LIFE TO ANSWER IT.
By the word Evangelism I do not mean to include merely, or even particularly, evangelistic work, evangelistic meetings, or what is comprehended under the general head of revivalism. I mean the methods of presenting Christian truth to men's minds in any form. BY THE NEW EVANGELISM, SO FAR AS MERE DEFINITION IS CONCERNED, IS MEANT THE PARTICULAR SUBSTANCE AND FORM OF EVANGEL WHICH IS ADAPTED TO THE PRESENT STATE OF MEN'S MINDS. THE NEW EVANGELISM, IN A WORD, IS THE GOSPEL FOR THE [New] AGE.

http://www.davidgorton.com/Gramps/Personal Matters/personal007.htm
Dear Gramps, I am a 24 year old mother of two young children ages 3 and 1. I am a full-time stay at home mom and I love being able to care for my children. My husband works for a large corporate farm and works a lot of hours, sometimes as many as 85 per week. I know that my place is in the home caring for our children, and that his primary responsibility is to provide for our children and me. When my husband is at home, he wants everything to be spotlessly clean, dinner ready and waiting, and will not help with the care of the children or the house, even when asked nicely. I understand that he is tired, but is there a way to approach him and help him to understand that his responsibilities as father, husband, and head of our home do not end when he punches the time clock? Or, am I the one who is in the wrong by expecting him to help when he is at home? Sincerely, A tired Mommy Dear tired Mommy, The family years when children are small are not always easy. There is often not time for either husband or wife to do all the things that they would like to do, and the pressures of work for the husband and maintaining the home for the wife can sometimes be severe. If your husband is working 85 hours per week, he is probably doing as much or more than some other men would who hold down two full-time jobs. In addition, his work is probably rather physical, so he must be rather tired when he comes home. On the other hand, caring for two children, ages one and three, is undoubtedly more than an 85-hour per week occupation, and it is also rather physical. You probably feel as tired as your husband does when he gets home.

Expressions of Soul Thoughts on evolution and cosmogony, by John Chike Onyido Home Love quotes Poems African quotes ... FOOD FOR THOUGHT Is life just a random walk? EVOLUTION IS INDEED A PROCESS OF ENLIGHTENMENT
The centerpiece of this article was crafted over a decade ago in an attempt to explore what common grounds existed, if any, between the theory of Evolution and Creation and also proffer a few personal insights on Cosmogony. In the past 10 years however, my thoughts have become somewhat more refined having passed through the crucible, resulting from maturity and experience. In addition, a number of excellent books on related subjects have crossed my path strengthening and clarifying my long held views on these matters, that perhaps the time has come to venture some propositions on Cosmology and Cosmogony, by weaving together present knowledge on the subject. The 1st Insight - A Critical Mass
The 2nd Insight - The Longer Now
The 3rd Insight - A Matter of Energy
The 4th Insight - The Struggle for Power
The need to increase our personal energy on realizing our disconnection from the larger source of energy leads to an unconscious competition and human conflict for power. This leads to a form of psychological violence, which passes from generation to generation of the compulsory acquisition of power and energy from others who are weaker, in an illussionary fight for survival. The dominator feels more powerful and knowledgeable than the victim, whether on an individual or world scale. It all results from a feeling of weakness and insecurity in ourselves and the lack of knowledge of the infinite supply of this energy by nature.

GREETING ONE ANOTHER
Lee Tian Seng
Last Sunday is the second day of the Chinese New Year. When Christians arrived at the church building in the morning to worship, as it is commanded in the Scripture (Acts 20:7; Revelations 1:10), there were much greetings among brethren because it is traditionally and socially polite to wish one another well at the dawn of a New Year. A brother commented that it should be “like that” every Sunday.
Be it a New Year Day or any other day, it is good to greet one another whenever we meet. It shows that there is courtesy and care in the church. Socially speaking, people tend to be more friendly to people they feel more comfortable with and that explains why there are cliques in the church. We often say it is just natural and thus leave the situation as it is. However, we could extend our friendliness beyond those we know so that we can practice true love as Christ has taught (Matthew 5:46-48). Once we have achieved that, we should challenge ourselves to go beyond mere greetings like “How are you today?” or “Good morning” and begin to reach out by speaking to one another in an unhindered manner and with sincere love. How else can we encourage and help one another if we do not do that.
We also receive greeting cards and emails during a New Year from our brethren. There is a Chinese New Year greeting card written by a certain family that comes with messages of appreciation for the labour of love and encouragement in the faith. Indeed, such is worthy of imitating. If this is good, then why not send such greetings as often as we find opportunity to do so. Even the apostle Paul has included greetings with spiritual encouragement in the faith in his epistles. (II Thessalonians 3:16-18).
