T F I Friday Back to engine room Go to comedy ... Campaign 4 Bank Holidays Dear Channel Four, I think that TFI Friday was a good show for about the first series and a half. It is now a very tired format. Please replace the tedious presenter Chris Evans, with someone who is funny and less annoying. If I were the commissioning editor of channel four, I would tell Evans to take his head out from up his backside and give him a well deserved slap. Everyone in the pub agrees with me about this. I used to enjoy his red mug show on Virgin radio on Saturday mornings, But he was a little younger then and there weren't as many celebrities brown nosing him, and he did not, at that time posses any inflated ego at all. The bands that play on the show are generally very good, and the interviews with famous people. But the tiring display of "trophies" of pictures of people who have been on, remind me of a naff old big game hunter. He says :- "I was unable to believe I was on a racetrack. Even better were the Silverstone 2001 races" Chris' Car 1965 MG Midget. The previous owner had the car restored from a shell in 1992 as a road car. Various changes and upgrades turned the car into a Hillclimb/sprint car to MGCC Cockshoot race regs. Chris purchased the car at the end of the 2000 season and has raced it without changes in the MGCC Cockshoot Championship. The engine conforms to the UK regulations (1330cc mild cam, and twin SU) with standard gearbox and diff. Hence it is far below the allowed FISC specification. Driver index

He was the leader/member of the Evans-Sontag Gang which stopped and robbed a number of Southern Pacific trains in California. The train holdups attributed to this gang include: Pixley, Califronia - February 22, 1889: the first train robbery attributed to the Evans-Sontag Gang. While blasting the express car open, four passengers - one lawman and the others employees - crept on the other side of the train toward the holdup. However, these saviors were spotted by the bandits and fired upon. After several were wounded, they retreated. The outlaws opened the strong box and fled. Goshen, California - January 20, 1890: the second and least troublesome robbery by the Evans-Sontag Gang. After stopping the train a few miles outside of town, the bandits left with an estimated $20,000. Some sources state it was $2,000. Ceres, California - September 3, 1891: a failed attempted robbery of a train when the employee in the messenger car refused to open the door. Even after blasting a hole in the side of the railroad car, the messenger still held his ground. The attempt came to an end when two Southern Pacific detectives, who were passengers on the train, fired on the bandits. Collis, California - August 3, 1892: a successful robbery, but only after tossing six sticks of dynamite at the stubborn express messenger. Amount taken was rumored to be $30,000 to $50,000 dollars, but was probably much less.
